Education Technology: Then Vs Now

Phone-based language learning lessons works on improving the speech. This makes learning faster and better than the previous methods, where children learnt reading but not learnt how to speak well.  This might sound unknown to the older generation, but to new parents, it is like an innovative teaching method and a good initiative for the importance of education system. If we think a little further, we will find more deep implications than it looks on the surface.  Language is the base of communication. Most of us get attracted to good speakers. Good communication or oratory skills leads to greater confidence. Greater confidence leads to respect, admiration, and success.  This is the value that new teaching and syllabus can bring to K-12 education. As National Education Policy 2020 briefly puts it under Curriculum and Pedagogy in schools: 'learning should be holistic, integrated, enjoyable, and engaging' for importance of education. The aim of new age education is not only the cognitive development but also character building, creating holistic and well-rounded individuals equipped with 21st-century skills. Teaching has evolved from writing on a blackboard or using textbooks to make students  learn. At every stage of learning, new pedagogical approaches are amply assisted by technology, especially in the post-pandemic period of hybrid education.

Multimedia And In Classroom Innovation

As schools prepare to slowly restructure school curriculum and education as per the NEP 2020, ed-tech companies have multiple technology products and applications that can help across all K- 12 learning levels. For example, 'Step and Learn' can help educators create learning games and experiences customized as per the needs of individual schools.

Expert Integration Via Home: Remote Learning

With online learning, students are not so self-conscious about asking questions; student interaction increases, as does the diversity of opinion in classroom communication.  In addition, specialized digital or online education programs can help students book one on one or similar sessions with teachers. They can listen to lectures, look at outcome-based study models, and solve and visualize problems to offer solutions. Specialized labs can help children think logically, solve critical issues, and appreciate complex subjects for subjects like Maths, Science, or foreign languages.

'Experimental, Outcome Based' Learning

Experiential learning is another aspect in which educationists and ed-tech companies have created significant innovations. Some solutions deliver knowledge in a personalized and meaningful manner.  They carry diverse multimedia options that students and teachers can use to their preferences. Since there are tools to record most lessons, any student who misses a class can go back and watch it at a time of their convenience. This reduces teacher dependency and further opens modes of questions and search for answers.

Examinations And Real-Time Feedback System

Teaching and learning have become more in-depth, and so does assessment methods. Using an integrated technology distribution platform, for instance, can allow teachers to assess better and faster.  With new thoughts and changes coming every day, our lives are always in constant evolution. We have to prepare our children for the forthcoming brave new world. This transformation will come by finishing the gap between in-classroom and at-home learning with the requisite technological assistance. That is how we will contribute to creating educated and informed leaders of tomorrow.
