All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi

AIIMS New Delhi was established in the year 1956 and incorporated as a National Institute of National Importance under the act of parliament. According to the NIRF rankings, AIIMS Delhi is ranked first in the medical category and eighth place in the research category.

Eligibility: Students must have completed class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized institution. Some institutions additionally have minimum percentage criteria ranging from 50% to 60%, whereas many institutes only require a passing grade in class 12.

Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh

PGIMER Chandigarh offers all specializations in the educational, medical research, and training fields to its students. The NIRF has ranked it second amongst top medical colleges in India three times in 2021. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Medical Council of India (MCI), and the Indian Nursing Council have all awarded the official accreditation to PGIMER Chandigarh. Aside from that, this institute offers short-term medical science training and elective courses.

Eligibility: Candidates should pass class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as mandatory subjects. The age of the candidates should range from 17 to 25 years old.

Christian Medical College

Christian Medical College Vellore is an autonomous institution founded in 1990. it is also known as CMC Vellore. CMC Vellore is affiliated with Dr MGR Medical University Chennai. In the medical sector, CMC Vellore was ranked third in the NIRF Ranking 2021. The institution offers diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programs to the candidates.

Eligibility: A minimum of 50% in 12th grade in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as subjects from a recognized board and a minimum of 50% in NEET.

National Institute of Mental Health & Neuroscience, Bangalore

NIMHANS is one of India’s best mental health and neuroscience educational institutions. According to the NIRF Ranking 2020, it is listed as the country’s fourth top medical institution. In several fields, NIMHANS provides UG, Diploma, PG, PGDM, Super Specialty Medicine Programmes, Fellowship, PhD, and Post-Doctoral Fellowship courses. The merit achieved candidates in the NIMHANS Entrance test are admitted to the institution. The selection is based on Merit scored from the entrance exam.

Eligibility: Based on marks scored in the Institute’s NIMHANS Entrance Exam and 10+2 with 45 per cent in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences

SGPGIMS was approved by the Medical Council of India, which is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC). SGPGIMS Lucknow was ranked 5th in the top medical institute group in the NIRF 2020 ranking. It provides tertiary medical care, as well as super-speciality education, training, and research. The institute features a 600-bed hospital that serves patients in 30 medical science departments.

Eligibility: Candidate must have a minimum of 50% aggregate in Class 12 with PCBE as mandatory subjects (45 per cent for reserved category candidates)

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

AVV is the first University to become a deemed university when it was accredited by the university grant commission (UGC). In addition, NAAC awarded AVV Coimbatore an ‘A’ grade in 2009, and NIRF ranked it 5th among Indian institutions in 2021. Engineering, Business, Medicine, Arts and Sciences, Biotechnology, Mass Communication, and Social Work are some of the undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, integrated-degree, dual-degree, and certification programs offered by AVV.

Eligibility: Candidates should complete class 12 with important subjects of Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, with a minimum of 60% aggregate (not less than 55 per cent individually in these three subjects)

Banaras Hindu University

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is a central university that is accredited by the NAAC and is recognized by the UGC. BHU is placed at 3 and 10 in the ‘‘Overall’ categories by the NIRF 2021. Banaras Hindu University provides 352 courses in 16 disciplines at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. BTech in Dairy Technology and Food Technology has recently been introduced at this university.

Eligibility: Candidates should pass Class 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry along with any one of the following subjects: Biology, Geology, or Geography. Age should not exceed 22 years.

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Research & Education

The institute was founded in the year 1956 and was set up by the Indian government. JIPMER stands for Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in Puducherry. The NIRF has ranked the institute in the eighth position in the medical category for the year 2021.

Eligibility: Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany, and Zoology, with a minimum of 50% in aggregate.

King George’s Medical University

The University Grants Commission has approved the university (UGC). It is also certified by NAAC with an ‘A’ rating. The university was ranked 5th in the dental category, 9th in the medical category, 39th in the university category, and 60th in the overall category in the NIRF 2021 ranking, which took into consideration of various parameters such as graduation outcomes, teaching, learning, and resources, perception, outreach and inclusivity, research, and professional practice.

Eligibility: At the qualifying examination (10+2), a candidate must have passed the subjects of PCB and English separately, as well as a minimum of 45 per cent combined in PCB subjects.

Kasturba Medical College

The National Medical Council of India, the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom, the Malaysian Medical Council, and the Australian Medical Council all recognized the KMC Manipal university. The college was ranked 10th in the medical category in the NIRF Rankings 2021 and it was ranked 9th in the same category in 2020.

Eligibility: Candidates must have passed a 10+2 examination or equivalent in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology combined.
