UPSC CSE 2021 Results Out; Top 3 Ranks Secured By Female Candidates


The final results of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services exam 2021 have been announced today, May 30. Candidates can check their respective results from the official website of UPSC, which is upsc.gov.in.  Shruti Sharma, from Delhi, has secured All India Rank 1 in the final results declared today. The top three positions have been secured by female candidates this year - Shruti Sharma (AIR 1), Ankita Agarwal (AIR 2) and Gamini Singla (AIR 3).  Shruti has graduated from St. Stephens College and Jawaharlal Nehru University. She took coaching from the Jamia Millia Islamia Residential Coaching Academy to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services exam.  The UPSC CSE 2021 final results are declared today. The UPSC preliminary exam was held on October 10, 2021, and the examination results were released on October 29. The main examination took place from January 7 to January 16. The results were declared on March 17, 2022. The last round of the examination was the Interview round which started on April 5 and ended on May 26.  Based on the results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination held in 2021 conducted by the UPSC from January 7 to January 16, about 1800 candidates had qualified for the Personality Test i.e. Interview for selection to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and other Central Services.  A total of 685 candidates have qualified the interview round with 244 (General), 73 (EWS), 203 (OBC), 105 (SC), and 60 (ST) students in the respective categories.  The Union Public Service Commission has also prepared a Reserve List of 126 candidates in accordance to the Rule 20 (4) and (5) of Civil Services Examination. 

The Central Government of India has notified vacancies in various central services, which are as follows:

  • IAS (Indian Administrative Service) - 180
  • IFS (Indian Foreign Service) - 37
  • IPS (Indian Police Service) - 200
  • Central Services Group A - 242
  • Group B Services - 90

 Steps To Download The UPSC Result 2021

  1. Visit the official website — upsc.gov.in
  1. Click on the link that reads ‘UPSC Civil Services final result 2021’ available on the homepage.  
  1. The result will appear in a PDF file on the screen.  
  1. Download and take a printout for future reference.  
In a tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the successful candidates after the UPSC result 2021. PM Modi tweeted: “Congratulations to all those who have cleared Civil Services (Main) Exam, 2021. My best wishes to these youngsters who are embarking on their administrative careers at an important time of India’s development journey when we’re marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,”   761 candidates cleared the UPSC CSE final examination in 2020, out of which 545 were males, and 216 were females. The first place holder in the examination was Shubham Kumar, the second was Jagrati Awasthi, and the third rank holder was Ankita Jain.
