Goa Government Approves The Export Of Low-Grade Iron-ore
On 29th December 2021, the Goa Assembly, led by the BJP, approved a policy that allows mining companies to export low-grade iron ore. This decision paved the way for the resumption of mining activity that has been stalled since 2018.
The Goa Cabinet’s approval came ahead of the 2022 Assembly election. The resumption of mining activities is a key poll promise of Arvind Kejriwal, who heads the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Also, it is one of the critical agendas for the Congress party.
