
Big Update: Yogi Adityanath Might Contest From Ayodhya
On Tuesday, a high-level meet took place at the BJP headquarters in Delhi. As per sources, the proposal of Yogi Adityanath contesting from Ayodhya at the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections was discussed. The high-level meet was attended by UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, party state chief Swatantra Dev Singh, home minister Amit Shah, among others.
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath had announced that he will contest the UP elections. Now, it is likely that he will be fielded from Ayodhya which will amplify BJP’s plank in the upcoming assembly elections. Informing about the news, a source close to the development said: “The CM contesting from Ayodhya would help the party highlight the narrative it has been emphasizing on,”
For the unversed, this will be the first time that Yogi Adityanath will be contesting outside Gorakhpur. The head priest of the Goraknath Math has represented the Gorakhpur constituency five times in the Lok Sabha.
While sources have claimed that the news is true, the final decision is expected to out after the high-level meet of the central election committee of BJP which includes PM Narendra Modi, party chief JP Nadda, home minister Amit Shah among others.
