Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi to Release on July 30 in Theatres


Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed biographical crime drama film Gangubai Kathiawadi will be released in theatres on July 30. However, Netflix has taken the digital rights of this film, and its users can watch this film on the platform from 20 September 2021. The film is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada. It features many renowned Bollywood actors, including Alia Bhatt in the lead role, Indira Tiwari, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pehwa, and more. We may even see Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi’s extended cameos in the film. The film Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on the real-life story of Mumbai’s Mafia Queen Ganga Harjeevandas Kathiawadi, who belongs to Gujarat. She comes to Mumbai with a dream to become a famous Bollywood actress but ends up being a prostitute as her suitor sells her for Rs.500. Gangubai Kathiawadi died in 1978; she was a benevolent lady who was always ready to help others, especially prostitutes. In spite of being a prostitute, she won the hearts of many people. Hussain Zaidi wrote the book “Mafia Queens of Mumbai,” based on Gangubai Kathiawadi’s life; it was published in April 2011. Now Sanjay Leela Bhansali has made a film based on her life. The trailer of the film has already been released, and Alia Bhatt nailed it.
