Bollywood Movies That Proved Friendship Is Better Than Love!

"Ladka aur ladki kabhi dost nahi ho sakte", well, the marketing of this phrase has been done by Bollywood single-handedly by showing us movies where the hero and heroine fight against all odds and eventually has a happy ending, but there are some movies which has proved that not all friendships turn into love and sometimes, just sharing a great friendship with someone holds much more value than sharing a love bond.

Here are the Bollywood films that proved "Pyar Dosti Hai":

Queen

Kangana essays the role of Rani, who goes on her honeymoon alone and befriends a lot of people in her journey, and some even end up liking her, but director Vikas Behl does a great job by not making the romance bloom and give an open ending to the movie.

Ek Main Hoon Aur Ekk Tu

Director Shakun Batra breaks the B-town stereotypes, and no, the lead characters don't fall in love with each other and share nothing more than pure companionship. The film manages to stay true to the concept that a guy and girl can maintain a special bond without romance blossoming between the two. Though the movie promises that something can happen between the two in future, who knows after all?

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

[caption id="attachment_13862" align="alignnone" width="207"]Bollywood Image credits: IMDb[/caption] Whenever people talk about Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, all one can recall is the love story between Naina (Deepika Padukone) and Kabir (Ranbir Kapoor), but what we do miss out on is the raw and honest bond shown between Aditi (Kaki Koechlin) and Avi (Aditya Roy Kapoor). Aditi is in love with Avi but not the other way around, but that doesn't affect their friendship, and Aditi ends up marrying someone else, and the two remain nothing but best friends!

Dear Zindagi

[caption id="attachment_13863" align="alignnone" width="194"]Bollywood Image credits: IMDb[/caption] Directed by Gauri Shinde, Dear Zindagi feels like a breath of fresh air. The movie showcases a nurturing and pure bond between Kaira (Alia Bhatt) and her psychologist Jehangir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan), who uses unconventional methods to treat Kaira's insomnia and make her fall in love with Zindagi. Though the movie at every point convinces you that both will eventually fall for each other, it's wonderful that no love story starts there, and it remains a warm friendship.

Cocktail

[caption id="attachment_13864" align="alignnone" width="208"]Bollywood Image credits: IMDb[/caption] Cocktail showcases the friendship between Meera (Diana Penty), Veronica (Deepika Padukone) and Gautam (Saif Ali Khan). The movie's storyline is so retable that there are chances of you saying 'been there faced that' situation while watching it. Though the film ends with Meera and Gautam falling for each other, it also shows a great friendship between Veronica and Gautam (Who are, BTW, each other's ex)
