Celebrities Who Could Have Done Better At Hosting a TV Show

Bollywood stars are not often limited to acting. They are also seen as judging and hosting reality shows on Television; due to their huge fan following, they managed to take the show’s TRP to a top-notch level, but sometimes they failed to make a lasting impression on the viewers.  We have seen actors like Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty, who have garnered much love for their reality shows, but there’s always another side to the coin. Let’s look at the actors who either disappeared from the show or the show went off air.  1.  Amitabh Bachchan [caption id="attachment_4818" align="alignnone" width="635"]amitabh Ereality TV Image Credits: Ereality TV[/caption] You must be thinking why we have put Big B on the list, though he is hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati very efficiently and is loved by the audience, but how many of you know that Big B has hosted Bigg Boss season 3?  After the completion of season 3, Bhai Jaan was roped in for season 4; we don’t know the reason, but according to Salman, Mr. Bachchan did not react to what happened in the house, but he gets involved with the show’s contestants. (Did Salman just spill the beans accidentally?)   2. Shahrukh Khan [caption id="attachment_4835" align="alignnone" width="696"]shahrukh TellyChakkar Image Credits: TellyChakkar[/caption] King Khan is ruling Indian cinema for decades now, but he couldn’t do so in the Television industry. Shahrukh khan’s Kya Hum Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hai? went off air midway as it did not receive a good response from the viewers, and owing to the show’s low TRP rating, the makers had to cancel it. Well, even King Khan’s charm couldn’t save the show!   3. Hrithik Roshan [caption id="attachment_4826" align="alignnone" width="720"]hrthik roshan IMDb Image Credits: IMDb[/caption] This one is quite ironic! The actor who is famous for his unbelievable dancing skills couldn’t save a dancing reality show. The dance reality show Just Dance started on a fantastic note, and audiences had many expectations, but the show couldn’t live up to its promise. Due to the show’s low TRP rating, makers had to cancel the show.  Though the show didn’t do well, but truth be told, and you will agree, there’s still no one who dances like Hrithik.    4. Arshad Warsi  [caption id="attachment_4840" align="alignnone" width="677"]arshad warsi TOI Image Credits: Times of India[/caption] Did you know that circuit hosted the first season of Bigg Boss long before Bhai Jaan did? However, the actor was not seen in any of the seasons of Bigg Boss thereafter. There’s still no explanation present as to why Arshad left the show. But we have got info that might settle the confusion once and for all. During the promotions of his film Golmaal Again on Bigg Boss season 11, Arshad was missing from the promotions. When asked about the same, this is what the actor had to say for his absence “The (Bigg Boss) show is down-market. People on the show, I hear, are tacky.” On how he thinks the show has deteriorated compared to its first season “The concept back then was to understand the psyche of people and notice the developments that occur when they are made to reside in a house, isolated from the world. No one wanted to cause any trouble. There was no nudity or violence demanded in the clause. Now the channel wants immediate TRP success, so they are consciously sending nut-cases into the house. The channel is attempting to boost the ratings by showcasing things that sell. And thus, morality is taking a backseat.” 5. Govinda [caption id="attachment_4824" align="alignnone" width="560"]govinda NETTV4U Image Credits: NETTV4U[/caption] The dancing icon of Bollywood hosted a show, “Jeeto Chappar Phaad Ke,” back in 2001, which aired on Sony TV, but the show couldn’t win the hearts of the audience and was a massive flop. According to the Sony entertainment channel, Govinda used to report late or sick on the shoots and even canceled them at times, and it proved to be a major reason for the delays in shoots.    6. Anupam Kher [caption id="attachment_4819" align="alignnone" width="519"]anupam rediff.com Image Credits: Rediff.com[/caption] Anupam Kher and actress Manisha Koirala hosted a Zee show, Sawal Dus Crore Ka, a replica of Kaun Banega Crorepati. The show was a failure in terms of TRP and only after first season, the show went off air.  The show also terminated both the hosts' contracts, and Zee sources said that the hosts were not cordial to each other and had no harmony. Their ego had destroyed a show that had the potential of becoming world’s largest entertainment show. Anupam Kher also filed an injunction suite against the channel in Mumbai High court and said that the makers cannot air the show without him as a host but his plea was rejected. Manisha also strongly spoke against the channel. It was quite a battle!   7. Sunil Grover sunil grover Hotstar Comedian and actor Sunil Grover garnered much love and appreciation for his characters in the show Comedy Nights With Kapil, and the show was also running on its prime, but things took an ugly turn reportedly after a rift between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover following the latter’s exit from the show.  Sunil Grover was then seen in the comedy show, Gangs of Filmistaan, which aired on Star Bharat but the show was unable to grip the audience’s attention, and the makers had to cancel it, and the show went off air after breathing a short life of only two months.
