The Short But Successful Life Of An Over-Achiever: Sidharth Shukla
Born on 12th December 1980 in Mumbai to Ashok Shukla and Rita Shukla, Sidharth Shukla stepped into the world of showbiz by appearing in a music video ‘Resham Ka Rumal’ sung by Ila Arun in the year 2004. After the music video, Sidharth then represented India at the World’s Best Model Contest which took place in Turkey in 2005; he became the first Indian and the first Asian to win the title as he defeated 40 contestants who took part in the contest.
Sidharth Shukla stepped into the Television industry in 2008, when he bagged the lead role in a Sony TV show ‘Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na’ Ever since he came on screen, he lured the audience with his fantastic acting skills and his charm. Sidharth then went on to do many TV shows such as Jaane Pehchaane se…ye ajnabbi, Aahat, Love U Zindagi and CID. Though Sidharth got into the Television industry in 2008, he tasted real success in 2012, when he appeared as Shivraj Shekhar in the hit TV show ‘Balika Vadhu’. The role of Shekhar earned him a lot of recognition and popularity.

After gaining popularity from Balika Vadhu, Sidharth then appeared in the celebrity dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 but got eliminated in the 11th week. However, that didn’t stop Sidharth, and he went on to make his Bollywood debut with the film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and played the character of Angad Bedi. Shukla received a lot of praise for his short but impactful role and bagged the award of Breakthrough Supporting Performance (Male) at the Stardust Awards 2015.

The turning point: Bigg Boss 13
The most unique thing that attracted everyone to Sidharth Shukla was that he always carried the never give up attitude and faced his battles on his own. The handsome hunk hosted many shows, including Savdhaan India, India’s Got Talent 6, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7. Sidharth never feared experimenting with new things in his life. In 2019, fans were stunned to know that Sidharth is going to enter the Bigg Boss season 13 house. After entering the show, people got to experience the real Sidharth and poured so much love that Shukla went on to win the show. In fact, he was also rated as the most popular contestant of the show; no wonder Bigg Boss 13 is still regarded as one of the most popular seasons of the hit reality show.
Winning Bigg Boss changed the career of Sidharth Shukla, and he became so popular that he started coming on the trending page of Twitter almost every day. After tasting the big win, Sidharth appeared in music videos such as Bhula Dunga and Dil Ko Karaar Aaya, and both performed exceptionally well. Since Sidharth became like the lucky mascot of Bigg Boss, he entered the house of Bigg Boss 14 as Toofani Seniors. Well, it’s safe to say that whenever Shukla came on the show, the TRPs climbed unmatchable heights.
In fact, after Bigg Boss 14 host Salman Khan had to miss the show for other work commitments, Sidharth Shukla stepped into the shoes of Khan and hosted the show’s ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’. Recently, Sidharth made his OTT debut as Agastya Rao in Broken But Beautiful 2 opposite Sonia Rathee and received quite a positive response for his impeccable acting and excellent on-screen presence.
The Love Life of Sidharth Shukla
In his short but successful career, Sidharth has often hit the headlines for his love affairs. Well, Sidharth never spoke much about his personal life, but he was linked to many well-known TV personalities, including Akanksha Puri, Shefali Jariwala, Arti Singh, Drashti Dhami, Smita Bansal, Pavitra Punia and Rashami Desai. However, the one that caught everyone’s eye is when Sidharth met Shehnaaz Kaur Gill in the Bigg Boss 13 house. Ever since the two connected, fans started loving their chemistry on the show and showered their love on both of them. The #SidNaaz couple became so popular that even after the season ended, the two used to trend constantly. Recently, both appeared in the 1st episode of ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ of Bigg Boss OTT. Though both Sidharth and Shehnaaz never accepted about their relationship, their sweet gestures and posts for each other showed their genuine connection. Sidharth Shukla also did a music video with Shehnaaz titled ‘Shona Shona’.

Sidharth Shukla entered Bollywood with the film ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ and bagged the ‘Best Male Debut’ award at Filmfare Awards 2015. Reportedly, Shukla had signed a three-film deal with the Dharma Productions. Sidharth was at the peak of his career, but fate had some other plans. India woke up to a piece of shocking news on 2nd September 2021 after it was reported that Sidharth suffered a massive heart attack and passed away aged 40. Sidharth Shukla is survived by his mother and two sisters.
