Vidya Balan, Ileana D’Cruz Team Up For A ‘Date Movie’
Well, we all have missed seeing Vidya Balan on the silver screen. What If we told you Vidya Balan is coming back with none other than Scam 1992 fame Pratik Gandhi? Setting the screens on fire, Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Indian-American sensation Sendhil Ramamurthy are coming to your nearest theatre very soon, bringing the ‘date movie’ of the year!
Officially announcing about the same, Sherni actor, Vidya Balan took to Instagram and wrote: “Stoked about my next – an untitled charming drama-comedy about modern relationships, which promises to be either your story or the story of your friend. It will make you laugh and cry in equal measure, and I’m enjoying playing Kavya to the hilt. Delighted to be directed by @shirshagt and to have such an amazing posse of co-actors – @pratikgandhiofficial @ileana_official and @sendhil_ramaIt’s my first with @applausesocial (@sameern ) and my next with my Tumhari Sulu producers @ellipsisentertainment (@tanuj.garg, @atulkasbekar, @swatisiyer .) Can’t wait for you’ll to watch it next year! And wait for an announcement on the title soon,”
With a stellar cast, the untitled film takes a progressive and expressive take on modern relationships; director Shirsha Guha Thakurta said: “When I first heard this story, I was instantly attracted to its universe – honest, funny, and so today. The actors have been a dream to work with. Their generosity is something I will always cherish. My producers (Applause and Ellipsis) have been extremely supportive and stood by me like a rock. Yes, I’m nervous, but this journey so far has been truly special,” Shirsha Guha Thakurta is a leading ad filmmaker.
The untitled romantic comedy-drama will be jointly produced by Applause Entertainment and Ellipsis Entertainment, who have called the casting ‘a dream cast’ and are equally excited for the 2022’s ultimate date movie. The film will be filmed in locations across Mumbai and Ooty and is expected to release by next year.
While Indian-American sensation Sendhil Ramamurthy has given stunning performances in American shows like Covert Affairs, Heroes, Beauty and the Beast and Never Have I Ever, Vidya Balan was last seen in Amazon Prime Original movie Sherni, Pratik Gandhi in Scam 1992 and Ileana D’Cruz in The Big Bull.
