Summer Vacation Mode On: Prepare These Healthy Recipes For Your Kids


Finally, summers are here, and vacations have started for the kids, and they will find ways to get rid of the boredom. Some of you must have plans for the holiday, and some of you might stay at home and spend time with your families.  You can do some kid-friendly activities with your children, but making some delicious homemade ice creams would make it more exciting. This will ensure that your kids do not buy too much junk like popsicles, colas, ice candies, or juices that contain artificial sweeteners, which could raise the risk of several health issues.  Here are some kid friendly recipes suggested by nutritionists to help beat the heat in summers in the yummiest way. These are very easy and healthy recipes made with fresh and natural ingredients full of nutrients such as fibre, calcium, iron, vitamin C etc. 

1. Chocolate Banana Ice Cream

           What You Need: 

                     - 4 frozen and peeled bananas                      - ¼ cup of cocoa powder                      - 2 tablespoons of peanut butter                      -¼ cup cow’s milk or any other milk according to your choice

          How To Make: 

  1. Put cocoa powder, frozen bananas and peanut butter into the blender. 
  2. Blend the ingredients all together.
  3. Freeze until it gets hard enough to scoop into cones.
 

2. Mango Yogurt Ice Cream 

           What You Need: 

                      - 2 cups of curd or yoghurt                       - 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and chopped                        - 1 pinch of saffron strands soaked in 2 tablespoons of milk                        - 1 pinch of cardamom powder                        - 2-3 tablespoons of honey

           How To Make: 

  1. Peel and cut the mangoes into big pieces and freeze for 3-4 hours. 
  2. Drain the curd by pouring it into a fine sieve with a muslin cloth. 
  3. Place a bowl below to collect the whey, and leave aside for about an hour or until all the excess water content is drained from the yoghurt. 
  4. Add the hung curd to the blender along with the chopped frozen mangoes and saffron, and add cardamom powder. Blend into a smooth mixture. 
  5. Freeze the mixture in a freezer-safe box, seal the box with the lid and freeze for 3 hours or till almost frozen. 
  6. Remove from the fridge and blend once again in the blender to remove the ice crystals. Repeat the process once again. 
  7. After the third time of freezing, the Mango dessert is ready, add some topping of honey and serve.

3. Vegan Peanut Butter Ice Cream

           What You Need:

                        - 2 cups of dairy-free milk (oats milk, almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk)                          - 4-5 tbsp of stevia leaves                          - ½ cup of peanut butter                          - ¼ tsp salt                          - ½ tsp of pure vanilla extract                         -Toppings (chopped peanuts, chocolate syrup, chocolate chips or as per your preference)

           How To Make: 

  1. Stir all the ingredients together and pour the mixture into either ice cube trays or moulds as per your preference. 
  2. Freeze the mixture for an hour and once frozen, take out the ice tray or container and make it soft enough for your blender and then blend it until it gets smooth. 
  3. Freeze again for up to half an hour so that you get a firm ice cream texture. 
  4. Top it with chopped peanuts, chocolate syrup and choco chips or whatever you want to decorate it with.
