Bihar political crisis live updates: A political storm is brewing up in Bihar as the chief minister called a meeting with MPs and MLAs of the Janata Dal (United) on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, to discuss the scenario within his party and the state. According to sources, the meeting will decide the fate of the coalition between NDA and JD(U) in the state. Hinting its party's support to merge with Nitish Kumar-led JD(U), Rashtriya Janata (Dal) leader Tejashwi Yadav said our party is ready to 'embrace' a coalition with JD(U). Earlier, it was reported by The Hindu that Nitish Kumar, on Sunday, spoke to Congress party president Sonia Gandhi. During the conversation, he discussed the possibility of forming a new coalition government with the Congress party's support. However, there are no official records of the conversation. According to media report, the main cause behind Bihar political crisis involves the unhappiness of Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar with the BJP's policies. Maharashtra Cabinet Expansion: 18 Ministers Took Ministerial Oath On Today

Forty days after the formation of the new Maharashtra government with Eknath Shinde as the chief minister and Devendra Fadnavis as the deputy chief minister, the cabinet's expansion took place today at Maharashtra's Raj Bhavan.  According to sources, 18 MLAs from the BJP faction took ministerial oath today, and MLAs from the Shiv Sena faction will take oath after two to three weeks.  The decision to distribute various departments among the parties was taken after much deliberation between the two leaders. CM Yogi Adityanath Received Death Threat From An Unknown Sender On WhatsApp Helpline

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath received a death threat from an unknown sender on Lucknow police's helpline number.  As per reports, the threat to bomb UP CM Adityanath was received on the Lucknow Police Control Room's helpline WhatsApp number on August 2. Following the threat call, police officials geared up immediately and initiated a probe on the FIR filed by the operation commander of the helpline.  According to police officials, an investigation is underway to identify and arrest the sender. Congress To Launch Kanyakumari To Kashmir 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' 

The Congress party will launch a 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' from Kanyakumari to Kashmir on September 7, Congress party communication chief Jairam Ramesh announced on Tuesday. In his statement, he mentioned that Congress workers and leaders, including ex-party president Rahul Gandhi, will participate in the foot march.  He described the campaign: "The yatra will be about 3,500 kilometres long and will take 150 days to cover 12 states and two union territories". He added, "On this day 80 years ago, the Indian National Congress under the leadership and inspiration of Mahatma Gandhi launched the 'Bharat Chhodo Aandolan' (Quit India movement) that won our country freedom five years later". On behalf of the Congress party, Mr Ramesh urged his compatriots to join the campaign. Covid-Bulletin: India Logs 12,751 New Covid-19 Cases; Recovery Rate At 98.51%

According to the latest data released by the union health ministry, India has registered 12,751 new covid-19 cases in the previous 24 hours. The active caseload of the country currently stands at 1,31,807. Meanwhile, daily recoveries counted the figure of 16,412 in the last 24 hours. With this tally, the total recoveries have reached 4,35,16,071. The daily and weekly positivity rates stand at 3.50% and 4.69%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 87.85 crore covid-19 tests so far.
