Ukraine - Russia Tensions: India Abstains On Voting Over Ukraine Issue In The UN

On Monday, a procedural vote was taken in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) over a discussion on the situation at the Ukraine border. However, India decided to abstain from the procedural vote. Russia, a permanent UNSC and veto-wielding member, called for a procedural vote to determine if an open meeting should be done over the Ukraine border issue. While Russia and China voted against the meeting, India, Gabon and Kenya abstained. However, all the other 10 Council members, including Norway, France, The UK, The US, France, Ireland, Mexico and Brazil, voted in favour of the meeting. The council needed only 9 votes to proceed with the discussion, and subsequently, the Ukraine border issue was discussed. Hailing India's move, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, Dmitry Polyanskiy, tweeted: "US diplomacy at its worst. Thanks to 4 of our colleagues, China, India, Gabon and Kenya, who were brave to withstand US hand-twisting before the vote," Reportedly, Russia has massed an estimated 100,000 troops near Ukraine border with strong warnings from the west that Moscow intends to invade Ukraine. However, Russia has denied any plans of invading Ukraine. However, Moscow has demanded that NATO needs to promise that it will never allow Ukraine to join the military alliance and also urging the west to stop the deployment of NATO weapons near Russian borders and roll back all of its forces from Eastern Europe. As of now, the US and NATO have rejected all Russian demands and have not ruled out any talks to ease the ongoing Ukraine-Russia crisis. https://youtu.be/t3EXpasPPTg

No Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 - RRR Clash; Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Gets A New Release Date

On Wednesday, the makers of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 announced a new release date of the Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer film. Instead of 25th March 2022, the film will now hit the theatres on 20th May 2022 instead. Though there is no clear cut information on why Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2's release date has been postponed, sources claim that it has been done to avoid clashes with SS Rajamouli's film RRR. On Monday, RRR makers announced the new release date for the film and confirmed that RRR would hit the theatres on 25th March 2022, thereby clashing with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Therefore, the change of release date is being seen as an attempt to avoid the big box office clash.  https://twitter.com/taran_adarsh/status/1488746383725105154?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1488746383725105154%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.india.com%2Fentertainment%2Fbollywood-news-bhool-bhulaiyaa-2-pushed-to-may-20th-avoids-clash-with-rrr-on-march-25-new-release-date-announcement-bhool-bhulaiyaa-2-news-5219044%2F https://twitter.com/RRRMovie/status/1488123673630236675
