Droupadi Murmu- First Tribal Woman To Chair The Highest Post In India
Former Jharkhand governor and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Droupadi Murmu scripted history by securing 64.03 per cent of votes in the recently held Presidential Elections. With this victory, she became the 15th President of India and the first tribal and the youngest woman to chair the highest post in India.
The 64-year-old’s Presidential oath will be administered by the Chief Justice of India, N V Ramana, at a ceremony in the central hall of Parliament on July 25.
This year, the vote counting process was divided into four stages. After the fourth round results, opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha congratulated Murmu and hoped she would function as the “Custodian of the Constitution without fear or favour”.
President Ram Nath Kovind, too, congratulated his successor through a tweet, “Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Smt. Droupadi Murmu on being elected as the 15th President of India”.

Girls Outperform Boys By 3.29 Per Cent In CBSE Class 12 Results
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today, on July 22, 2022, released the class 12 board exam results 2022. Students can check their results at official websites: cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in. Students can also check their results via SMS, the UMANG app, and Digilocker facilities.
In 2022 class 12 results, 92.71 percent cleared the exams, as recorded by the board. Among these, students from the Trivandrum region scored well because this region emerged as the best performing region with a pass percentage of 98.83. In the overall results, girls have outperformed boys by 3.29 percent. At the same time, all registered transgender students cleared the class 12 board exams as well. With the declaration of results, a wave of joy emerged on the faces of toppers of the CBSE class 12 results.

PM Modi Urges People To Hoist Tricolour At Home Between August 13-15
Taking to his Twitter account on Friday, July 22, 2022, PM Modi appealed to the citizens to strengthen the Har Ghar Tiranga movement by hoisting or displaying the Tricolour in their homes between August 13-15. He tweeted, “This year, when we are marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, let us strengthen the Har Ghar Tiranga Movement. Hoist the Tricolour or display it in your homes between 13th and 15th August. This movement will deepen our connection with the national flag. Harghartiranga.com”.
Creating a series of tweets, the PM described the importance of July 22 in Indian history. He shared- “Today, July 22, has special relevance in our history. It was on this day in 1947 that our National Flag was adopted. Sharing some interesting nuggets from history, including details of the committee associated with our Tricolour and the first Tricolour unfurled by Pandit Nehru”.

Covid-Bulletin: India Registers 21,880 New Cases, Recovery Rate At 98.46%
According to the latest data released by the union health ministry, India has recorded 21,880 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload of the country currently stands at 1,49,482. Meanwhile, the nation has registered 21,219 recoveries in the previous 24 hours, and the total recoveries have reached 4,31,71,653. The daily and weekly positivity rates currently stand at 4.42% and 4.51%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 87.16crore Covid-19 tests so far. On the vaccination front, India has administered 201.30 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses under the nationwide vaccination drive, out of which 92.85crore and 6.63crore are second doses and precautionary doses, respectively.
