BJP’s Big Rally For Upcoming UP Elections In Lucknow Today

The Bhartiya Janata Party is gearing up for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled to happen next year. In the first big joint rally with an ally in Uttar Pradesh, Home Minister Amit Shah and UP CM Yogi Adityanath will be leading the rally in Lucknow today. The rally is being organised by Dr Sanjay Nishad of the Nishad Party, which has been a staunch supporter and ally of BJP since the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. At the Lucknow rally today, Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to make a big move and commit to the long pending demand of the Nishad community to include them in the bracket of Scheduled Castes. Currently, the Nishad community is a part of the OBC community. However, all previous attempts of transferring many communities from OBCs to the SCs list by various governments have failed either due to bureaucratic hurdles or legal wranglings. In the Eastern UP parties, BJP has an alliance with the Nishad Party, Hissedari Morcha, and Apna Dal Party.
