Charanjit Singh Channi To Become The Next CM Of Punjab
After captain Amarinder Singh resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Punjab on Saturday, three times Punjab MLA Charanjit Singh Channi is all set to take oath as the new Chief Minister of Punjab. Mr Channi is known to be a close associate of Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu. Taking to Twitter, Sidhu wrote: “Historic !! Punjab’s first Dalit CM-Designate … Will be written with Golden letters in History. A tribute to the spirit of the Constitution and the Congress !! Congratulations @CHARANJITCHANNI Bai,” Mr Channi is to take the oath shortly, and Congress member Rahul Gandhi is unlikely to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Mr Charanjit Singh Channi.

Covid-Bulletin: India Records 30,256 New Covid-19 Cases; Recovery Rate At 97.72%
According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry, India has registered 30,256 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload of the country stands at 3,18,181, constituting 0.95% of the total cases reported in the country. Meanwhile, daily recoveries have outnumbered fresh covid-19 cases by a huge margin, with recording 43,938 fresh recoveries in the previous 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,27,15,105. The daily and weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.57% and 2.07%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 55.36 crore covid-19 tests so far. On the vaccination front, India has administered 80.85 crore covid-19 vaccine doses under the nationwide vaccination drive.

Arvind Kejriwal To Visit Goa Today Ahead Of Assembly Polls 2022
Ahead of the Assembly Polls 2022 in Goa, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is all set to visit Goa to settle Aam Aadmi Party’s foothold in the state. Earlier, Delhi CM had tweeted: “In Delhi, they tried to defeat us with IT Dept., CBI, Delhi Police – but we won 62 seats. As we grow in Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand, Gujarat – we get an ED notice! The people of India want honest politics. These tactics of BJP will never succeed. They will make us stronger,” During his visit to Goa, Arvind Kejriwal is scheduled to address a press conference and make important announcements in the poll-bound state. The Assembly elections are scheduled to take place in Goa, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Manipur in 2022.

Former Union Minister Babul Supriyo, who recently left BJP and joined the Trinamool Congress, said that Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is among the top runner for the Prime Ministerial post in 2024. Speaking to ANI, Supriyo said: “I want that the captain of our party Mamata Banerjee becomes the Prime Minister in 2024. Opposition plays an important role in a democratic system. Nobody can deny the fact that Mamata Banerjee is among the top frontrunners for the prime ministerial post,” When asked about why he switched parties, the Minister said: “I have not created any history by changing the party.
