Why Keep A Law That Is Against Mahatma Gandhi's Principle Says The Supreme Court

On Thursday, The Supreme Court asked the central government's view on whether British-era Sedition law ( Section 124A) that was used by the colonial rulers to punish freedom fighters like Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Mahatma Gandhi to quell protest should be retained even after there are so many instances of the police misusing the law without holding any accountability right till current times. Turning to the Attorney General, the Chief Justice of India, N.V Ramana, said: "Remember how many thousands of people were charged under this law (Sedition)? And there is no accountability fastened on police for falsely implicating persons under the Sedition provision of IPC. In rural areas, it is even worse. If a person defies a policeman, he would have him booked under Section 124A. There are so many issues that arise and we have to look into all of these issues." A bench of Chief Justice N.V. Ramana and Justices A S Bopanna and Hrishikesh Roy said that the Sedition law should be used only for protecting the nation, its security and institutions of importance in a democracy. However, the Sedition law enacted by the Britishers has been grossly misused since Independence. https://youtu.be/7iVmxmjv_Dk

No pilot license is required for nano drones (weight up to 250 grams), micro drones (weight up to 2kg) for non-commercial use," The drone draft rules are built on a premise of trust, self-certification, and non-intrusive monitoring, as quoted by a senior official.
