Covid-Bulletin: India Records A Slight Decline In Active Covid-19 Cases

According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry, India reported 43,393 active covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, slightly lower than yesterday. The cumulative total in the country has reached 3,07,52,950, with the positivity rate at 2.42%. As many as 911 people succumbed to death due to covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total fatality count in the country to 4,05,939. Meanwhile, the daily recoveries have yet again outnumbered the active covid-19 infections, with 44,459 more people getting discharged between Thursday and Friday. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, India has tested 42,70,16,605 samples for covid-19 so far. US Military Troops To Move Out Of Afghanistan By 31st August Says Joe Biden

The United States has cleared its stance on the Afghanistan issue as US President announced that the US troops would move out of Afghanistan by 31st August. Since the Taliban is making rapid territorial gains in the country, Mr Biden said that the USA has achieved what it had gone for in Afghanistan and now it is on the Afghans to decide their future. While speaking from the east room of the White House, Mr Biden, on Thursday, said: "We did not go to Afghanistan to nation-build. Supreme Court To Hear The Amazon-Future-Reliance Case On 20th July

The Supreme Court of India has adjourned the Amazon-Future-Reliance case till 20th July. Senior advocate Harish Salve submitted that the Singapore Arbitration Tribunal would hear the matter from Tuesday and requested the matter to be heard next week. The e-commerce giant Amazon had challenged the Delhi High Court's decision in the top court to stay an order restraining Future Retail Limited (FRL) from going ahead with assets worth INR 24,731-crore sale deal with Reliance retail. Amazon has been seeking the enforcement of the emergency arbitrator at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) to refrain FRL from taking any steps to transfer its assets.

PM Modi Holds The First Meeting With Cabinet 2.0

After the big cabinet reshuffling that took place on 7th July, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held the first meeting with the new cabinet and advised the new ministers to avoid speaking to the media unnecessary and consult from their predecessors before coming to a final decision. Kerala Reports First Case Of Zika Virus In A 24-Year Old Pregnant Woman

On Thursday, Veena George, Kerala Minister for Health and Family Welfare, announced that the state has reported the first positive case of zika virus in a 24-year old pregnant woman, and the sample has been sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) located in Pune for confirmation. Apart from this, George also said that Kerala has 13 suspected cases of the zika virus. Veena George said: "The disease was reported in a 24-year-old pregnant woman from Parassala who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. On June 28, the woman was admitted to the hospital with fever, headache, and red spots. Her samples showed she contracted the zika virus, for confirming the samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune," About the health condition of the patient, the minister said that her health condition is satisfactory and she gave birth to her baby normally. The minister also mentioned that the woman had no travel history outside Kerala, but her house is located at the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border. Adding further, George said: "Steps have been taken to send samples of Aedes mosquitos collected from the affected area and nearby areas for PCR testing. Preventive activities in the area will be strengthened, and an alert has been issued to all districts,"
