India Still Has Some Covid Says British High Commissioner To India

On Tuesday, India warned the UK of reciprocal action and also called out UK's new travel rules as discriminatory and offensive. Amid the controversy of the UK enforcing strict rules for fully vaccinated Indians against covid-19 with Covishield, British High Commissioner to India, Mr Alex Ellis, said: "Even now, Covishield is only recognized if administered in one of the 17 "green-listed" countries -- India is not part of this list. The question is, were you a 'green listed' country? On our list of 17 countries are mainly 'green listed' countries because they have very low levels of covid...India still has some Covid, as we know. That's why it is on the 'amber' list," The controversy got heated when British High Commission to India released a statement saying that the UK government still had doubts over the credibility of India's Co-Win vaccination certificates. However, Mr Ellis clarified that the UK government is in no way doubting India's vaccination drive and said: "We listen very carefully to what the Indian government says,"  https://youtu.be/dRMs6rHea00
