According to the data released by Union Health Ministry, 67,208 people have tested positive for covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative caseload to 2,97,00,313. The positivity rate of the country stands at 3.48%. In the last 24 hours, 2,330 more people have succumbed to death due to covid-19 taking the total death tally to 3,81,903. The total number of recoveries in the country has reached to 2,84,91,670 people being recovered from the virus. India has so far administered a total of 26,55,19,251 covid-19 vaccine doses.

Bharat Biotech To Hold A Meeting With WHO On 23rd June Regarding The Approval Of Covaxin
The Hyderabad based vaccine manufacturing company Bharat Biotech has been facing issues for getting the approval for Covaxin in some foreign countries since it lacks phase-3 trial data, which is essential in order to get a WHO nod. The company had earlier said it is ready to make Covaxin’s phase 3 trial data public during July, following which the company will apply for a full license of the covid-19 vaccine in India. The pre-submission meeting between Bharat Biotech and WHO is likely to happen on Wednesday, i.e. 23rd June, regarding the approval of the India-made covid-19 vaccine, Covaxin. Recently, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the USA’s top health regulator, rejected the Covaxin application for emergency use, citing the reason of the lack of data on clinical trials.
These States Likely To Receive Heavy To Very Heavy Rainfall As Per IMD
The Indian Meteorological Department has said that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to happen in states including sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka and Bihar. The met department also added states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Nagaland, Manipur, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Meghalaya, Assam, and Odisha is likely to receive heavy rainfall. Apart from rainfall, some states like Delhi, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Punjab are expected to receive thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds.

Kerala Government Issues New Guidelines For Travellers
The Kerala government has started easing covid-19 restrictions in the state from Thursday. The Kerala police have allowed unrestricted travelling in areas where the covid-19 positivity rate is less than 8%. The guidelines issued by Kerala DGP Loknath Behera said: “A pass is not required to travel to and from the locations where restriction are relaxed (where TRP is less than 8%) and where partial lockdown exist, but passengers should carry the filled self affidavit,” However, a police pass is required to travel from areas with complete lockdown to places with the partial lockdown. With regions having triple lockdown (where TRP is higher than 30%), travellers will be allowed only for exams, medical purposes and funeral ceremonies. The Police have also asked the commuters to carry relevant documents while travelling.
Twitter India Managing Director Manish Maheshwari Interogagted By Delhi Police Over Toolkit Row
Delhi police’s special cell has interrogated Twitter India managing director Manish Maheshwari at Bengaluru on the Congress toolkit case. The Delhi police have also sent a notice to Twitter India to explain and share all the information on why they described the alleged tweet as manipulated media. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had earlier written to Twitter to remove the manipulated media tag from the alleged tweet as the matter is under investigation before a law enforcement agency. Meanwhile, the micro-blogging site has lost legal indemnity in India for not complying with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines And Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
Uttarakhand Government Orders FIR To Be Registered Against Covid Testing Labs For Mahakumbh Covid-19 Testing Scam
An official on Wednesday said that the Uttarakhand government has ordered the Haridwar District Administration to register an FIR against the fake covid-19 labs in relation to the Mahakumbh covid-19 testing scam. The issued order says to file a case against covid-19 testing labs located in Delhi and Haryana, which conducted testing at five places in Haridwar during the Mahakumbh Mela. The development came after news that said that at least 1 lakh covid-19 report tests conducted during the Kumbh Mela are fake. The Social Development for Community Foundation said: “The covid-19 test data of Kumbh Mela area and its results were not shared in the public domain, cases, investigations, deaths, recoveries, and other information of 13 districts of Uttarakhand were being shared in the state health bulletin this way, the complete picture of the Kumbh Mela area was never available.”
