J&K terrorist Attack Kills 2 Policemen; 12 Injured

On Monday evening, terrorists carried out an attack on a police bus carrying at least 24 officials of the 9th battalion of Jammu & Kashmir Indian Reserve Police Battalion on the outskirts of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. The terrorists opened fire in Zewan in the Pantha Chowk area around 6:50 pm when the officials were returning to the headquarters. An official tweet of J&K police tweeted: "Terrorists fired upon a police vehicle near Zewan in Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar. 14 personnel injured in the attack. All the injured personnel evacuated to hospital. Area cordoned off," Kashmir inspector general of police Vijay Kumar said that credible sources have mentioned that the terrorist attack was carried out by an offshoot of the Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) that goes by the name of Kashmir Tigers. The terrorist attack has killed 2 policemen, and 12 were injured. The attack comes amid the 20th anniversary of the Indian Parliamentary attack that took place on 13th December 2001 and was conducted by JeM. Officials have launched a search operation to track down the terrorists, and the area has been cordoned off. Covid-Bulletin: India Registers 5,784 New Covid-19 Cases; Recovery Rate At 98.37%

According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry, India has registered 5,784 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload of the country currently stands at 88,993, which is the lowest in 563 days. Meanwhile, daily recoveries have outnumbered fresh covid-19 cases by a huge margin, with recording 7,995 recoveries in the previous 24 hours. The total recoveries have reached 3,41,38,763. The daily and weekly positivity rate currently stands at 0.58% and 0.68%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 65.76 crore covid-19 tests so far. Rajya Sabha: Opposition Leaders Move Privilege Motion Against Former CJI And Fellow MP Ranjan Gogoi 

Rajya Sabha MPs from opposition parties like Trinamool Congress and Indian National Congress have submitted a notice to move the privilege motion against former Chief Justice of India and fellow MP Mr Ranjan Gogoi. Writing to the secretary-general of Rajya Sabha, AITC members mentioned the breach of privilege by Mr Gogoi. The notice was sent in connection to Mr Ranjan Gogoi's remarks during a TV interview with NDTV on 9th December 2021. Mr Gogoi was asked a question regarding his low attendance in the Rajya Sabha, to which Mr Gogoi replied: "I go to the Rajya Sabha when I feel like when I think there are matters of importance on which I should speak. I am a nominated member not governed by any party whip. Therefore, whenever the bell rings for the party members to come, it does not bind me. I go there of my choice and come out on my choice. I am an independent member of the House," "What is this magic about Rajya Sabha? I would have been better off in terms of pay if I had been a member of Tribunal," added Mr Ranjan Gogoi.
