Legendary Singer-Composer Bappi Lahiri Dies, Aged 69

Bollywood woke up to a shock today morning with the passing away of legendary singer-composer Bappi Lahiri in Mumbai last night at the age of 69. As per news agency PTI, Bappi Lahiri was hospitalised for a month and was treated for several health issues. The news agency reported: "Bappi Lahiri had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday, and his family called for a doctor to visit their home. He was brought to the hospital. He had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight," The last rites of the disco legend of Bollywood will be held at Pawan Hans Crematorium on Thursday after his son Bappa arrives from the USA. During the 1980s and 1990s, Bappi Lahiri successfully carved a niche for himself in the Indian music industry and became the pioneer of disco in Bollywood. One of the most influential figures in the Indian music world, Bappi Lahiri, have composed soundtracks for superhit movies like Disco Dancer, Dance Dance, Chalte Chalte and Namak Halal. He also has done exceptional works in Bengali cinema. Bappi Lahiri's last song was Bhankas for Baaghi 3. Covid-Bulletin: India Logs 30,615 New Covid-19 Cases; Recovery Rate At 97.94%

According to the latest data released by the union health ministry, India has recorded 30,615 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload of the country currently stands at 3,70,240. Meanwhile, daily recoveries continue to outnumber active covid-19 cases, with recording 82,988 recoveries in the previous 24 hours. The total recoveries in the nation currently stand at 4,18,43,446. The daily and weekly positivity rates currently stand at 2.45% and 3.32%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 75.42 crore covid-19 tests so far. Alleged Key Conspirator In Red fort Violence Deep Sidhu Dies In A Road Accident 

Actor-activist Deep Sidhu, who was the main accused in the Red Fort violence on Republic Day last year, died in a road accident in Sonipat. On Tuesday evening, his car hit a truck on Kundli-Manesar-Palwal expressway near Haryana's Sonipat district. Reportedly, the 37-year-old actor was travelling from Delhi to Punjab. The visuals show his white SUV badly damaged on the driver's side after it rammed into the stationary truck. Jaspal Singh, the Kharkhoda police station Inspector, said: "Deep Sidhu died in the accident. A woman accompanying him has been admitted to hospital with some injuries." The actor-turned-activist was arrested on 9th February 2021 in connection with the Red Fort violence and was in jail for over two months before being released on bail. Karnataka Hijab Row: State Government Imposes Section 144 In Tumakuru District 

The Karnataka state government imposed Section 144 in Tumakuru district from Wednesday till further orders. A High-Court bench consisting of Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Justice Krishna S Dixit and Justice JM Khazi will continue to hear the Hijab matter on Wednesday. Meanwhile, members from the Muslim Women Association staged a silent protest at Bengaluru's Masab Tank against the Hijab ban in Karnataka. On Tuesday, the Muslim girls who moved the High Court against the Hijab ban argued that Hijab is not a display of religious jingoism instead an innocent practice of faith. Tiger 3: Katrina Kaif And Salman Khan Arrives In Delhi For Shooting 

Bollywood biggies Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif arrived in the national capital on Tuesday to film the following schedule of their upcoming film Tiger 3. The duo last appeared in Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat, and fans are eager to watch their sizzling chemistry on the big screen yet again. While Katrina Kaif was seen in a white sweater, leather trousers and white sneakers, Salman Khan was dressed casually in a black t-shirt, pants and a trendy jacket. As per an insider, the duo will be filming roughly for 10-12 days.
