Headlines: Mark Zuckerberg Loses Billions Of Dollars Over Global Outage

Mark Zuckerberg Loses Billions Of Dollars Over Global Outage

After social media giants Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp went down, sparking a global outage. The CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, lost billions of dollars in few hours. As per the reports by Bloomberg, the stock prices of Facebook went down 5%, and it also affected the net worth of its founder Mark Zuckerberg. If reports are to be believed, Mr Zuckerberg's net worth came down to $121.6 billion - about $6 billion less. All 3 social media channels Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, went down around 9 PM (IST), and the parent company Facebook confirmed that a faulty configuration change led to a global outage. However, Facebook also confirmed that during the downtime, no user data was compromised, which rules out the possibility of a cyberattack. In an official post, Facebook wrote: "Our engineering teams have learned that configuration changes on the backbone routers that coordinate network traffic between our data centres caused issues that interrupted this communication. This disruption to network traffic had a cascading effect on the way our data centres communicate, bringing our services to a halt,"  https://youtu.be/PFcBdFdNN1I

China-Taiwan Crisis: China Intrudes Into Taiwan's Air Defence Zone With 56 Jets

On Monday, Taiwan reported that China intruded into its air defence zone with 56 Chinese warplanes. Taiwan's Defence Ministry confirmed the intrusion of 36 fighter jets, 12 H-6 nuclear-capable bombers, and 4 other planes entered into Southwest Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ). Reacting to the large intrusion by the Chinese side, the Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) spokesman Chiu Chui-cheng said: "We demand the Beijing authorities immediately stop its non-peaceful and irresponsible provocative actions. China is the culprit for causing tensions between the two sides of the (Taiwan) strait, and it has further threatened regional security and order," From the past 2 years, China has repeatedly been sending large sorties into Taiwan's Defence Zone. Reacting to China's intrusion, US State Department Spokesman Ned Price said: "We urge Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic and economic pressure and coercion against Taiwan," After the 2016 elections, China has started putting pressure on Taiwan because Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen rejects the idea that Taiwan is part of one China. However, Chinese President Xi Jinping has always maintained that Taiwan becoming a part of mainland China is inevitable.  https://youtu.be/lpHk11vef8U
