Over 30% Active Cases Of Uttar Pradesh In Noida, Ghaziabad
On Monday, Uttar Pradesh recorded 8,334 new covid-19 cases. The most significant contributor in Uttar Pradesh‘s active covid tally is Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad, registering 1,223 and 1,385 covid-19 cases, respectively. As per the data released by the state health department, over 30% of active cases in Uttar Pradesh are from Noida and Ghaziabad. The data also showed that since Sunday, 71 patients and 70 patients recovered in Noida and Ghaziabad, respectively. The cumulative total of covid-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh currently stands at 33,946. Uttar Pradesh has recorded 275 Omicron cases so far.
Covid Bulletin: India Records 1,68,063 New Covid-19 Cases; Total Omicron Cases At 4,461
According to the latest data released by the union health ministry, India has registered 1,68,063 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload of the country currently stands at 8,21,446. Meanwhile, the nation has recorded 69,959 recoveries in the previous 24 hours, and the total recoveries currently stand at 3,45,70,131. The daily and weekly positivity rates currently stand at 10.64% and 8.85%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 69.31 crore covid-19 tests so far. On the vaccination front, India has administered 152.89 covid-19 vaccine doses so far under the nationwide vaccination drive. The union health ministry also released the statewise status of Omicron cases, and India has recorded a cumulative total of 4,461 Omicron cases so far. Maharashtra (1,247) has recorded the most number of Omicron cases, followed by Rajasthan (645), Delhi (546), Karnataka (479) and Kerala (350).

Delhi: Only Takeaways Allowed In Restaurants; Public Transports To Operate At 50% Capacity
After witnessing a surge in active covid-19 cases from the last few weeks, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) decided to close the restaurants and bars. In a review meeting chaired by the LG Anil Baijal, the DDMA decided to impose any harsh measures to contain the spread of the virus in the national capital. At the same time, the chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, assured the Delhi people that the state government has no intention of putting lockdown in the city and said: “We don’t want to impose a lockdown, and neither do we have plans to do so. We don’t want to hamper anyone’s daily bread. However, Mr Kejriwal also urged people to wear masks and follow covid-appropriate behaviour. Currently, the DDMA has imposed level 1 (yellow alert) of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Along with closing restaurants and bars for dine-in, the LG also informed that public transports would operate at a 50% capacity and standing passengers would not be permitted.

Today, union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya chaired a virtual meeting on covid management with Indian Medical Association leaders and senior doctors at 11:30 am.
