Pakistan Will Take Help Of Taliban To Get Kashmir Says Pak Leader

The ruling PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) government's leader Neelam Irshad Sheikh's comment about Pakistan taking over Kashmir through the help of the Taliban comes at a time when the Taliban is creating havoc in Afghanistan. Islamabad has constantly been blamed for fostering the Taliban in Afghanistan. During a television debate, the PTI leader said: "Taliban have said that they are with us and they will help us in [liberating] Kashmir, " The video was heavily shared on social media. Not only did the comment shocked the world, but it also stunned the news anchor, and he asked: "Madam, do you realize what you have said. You have no idea what you just said. Covid-Bulletin: India Records 37,593 Fresh Covid-19 Cases; Recovery Rate At 97.67%

According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 37,593 covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload in the country stands at 3,22,327, accounting for less than 1% of total covid-19 cases. Meanwhile, daily recoveries have reached 34,169 more patients recovering from the virus between Tuesday and Wednesday. The total recoveries stand at 3,17,54,281. The daily positivity rate and weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.10% and 1.92%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, India has conducted 51.11 crore covid-19 tests so far. 16 Afghan Evacuees Test Positive For Covid-19 

16 out of 78 Afghan evacuees who landed in Delhi yesterday have tested positive for covid-19. As a precautionary measure, all 78 have been put under quarantine. The 16 people who have tested positive are asymptomatic. India has stepped up its efforts to bring back stranded people in Afghanistan as the Taliban took control of the country. As per Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, a total of 626 people, which includes 228 Indian citizens, have been evacuated safely from Afghanistan. Delhi Is Preparing For Third Wave Says Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain assured that the capital is already preparing to tackle the third wave of the covid-19 pandemic even though covid-19 cases continue to decline. Mr Jain said: "Delhi government is making full preparations for the third corona wave. We are arranging 37,000 beds, preparing 12,000 oxygen beds etc. Separate preparations are also being made for children," The second wave of the covid-19 pandemic had hit Delhi so severely that the capital was recording four lakh cases per day. Recently a report by the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) has warned of a third wave anytime between September and October. 

Supreme Court: "Economic Criteria Not The Only Basis For Creamy Layer"

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court said that the government could not deny reservation to any person who belongs from a backward community only on the basis of their economic position in the society. A bench led by Justice L. Nageswara Rao and Aniruddha Bose, while referring to the Indra Sawhney verdict of 1992, said: "The basis of exclusion of 'creamy layer' cannot be merely economic," The court then explained the scope of creamy layer and said that it would include people from backward classes who have acquired posts like IAS, IPS and reached a higher level of economic status and social advancement.

Tokyo Paralympic Games Declared Open

On Tuesday, with howling guitars and neon-streaked performers, Japan's Emperor Naruhito declared the Tokyo Paralympic games open. With covid-19 rules banning spectators from watching the sports event, the games were surrounded by a vacant 68,000- capacity Olympic stadium.
