Rajnath Singh Issues Statement On IAF Chopper Crash At Parliament

After the incident of IAF chopper crash in Tamil Nadu, yesterday which took the lives of 12 people, including the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Singh Rawat and his wife, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, will make a detailed statement about the incident in both houses of the Parliament. Issuing an official statement about the same, the Defence Ministry informed that minister Rajnath Singh would brief Rajya Sabha at 11:30 am and Lok Sabha at 12:15 pm. The IAF Mi-17V5 helicopter was heading towards the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington, where India's first CDS and top military official General Bipin Singh Rawat, was about to address the faculty and student officers. Covid-Bulletin: India Records 9,419 New Covid-19 Cases; Recovery Rate At 98.36%

According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry, India has registered 9,419 New covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload of the country stands at 94,742. Meanwhile, daily recoveries have reached 8,251 recoveries in the previous 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,40,97,388. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.36%, which is the highest since March 2020. The daily and weekly positivity rate stands at 0.73% and 0.74%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 65.19 crore covid-19 tests so far. Sole Survivor Of IAF Chopper Crash Varun Singh Being Treated In Wellington For Severe Burn Injuries

The sole survivor of the IAF chopper crash, Group Captain Varun Singh, is undergoing treatment at the military hospital in Wellington for severe burn injuries. However, the Tamil Nadu government has also made special arrangements at a hospital in Coimbatore in case the Air Force decides to shift Mr Singh to India. Speaking about Group Captain Varun Singh, his uncle Dinesh Pratap Singh said: "He is currently in hospital, we will get information about his condition when the Air Force issues a bulletin," In August, Group Captain Varun Singh received the Shaurya Chakra for his courage in handling an aircraft that was hit by technical issues during a sortie. Omicron Covid-19 Cases In India To Be Treated In Designated Covid Facilities Only 

On Wednesday, the central government instructed states and union territories that covid-19 patients who have been infected with the new variant of concern Omicron shall be treated in designated covid-19 facilities along with separate isolation areas. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, in the letter, said that it is important to ensure that no cross-infection takes place, and healthcare workers at these designated facilities must take adequate precautions to prevent transmission among each other. Farmers Accept Government's Proposal; To Meet Today To Decide Future Action

The farmers' union have accepted the union government's draft proposal of addressing pending issues of farmers.
