Vaccination Process For Children Aged 15-18 Years From Today!

The covid-19 vaccination process for children aged between 15-18 years has started today in multiple cities. The registration for vaccination opened on 1st January, and more than 8 lakh teens have already registered on the CoWin portal. The vaccination process for children is being carried out in consultations with schools and colleges, and a large number of educational centres are being used as vaccination centres as well. In the process, children born in 2007 or before are eligible. The union health ministry informed that only Bharat Biotech developed Covaxin would be administered to children, and additional doses of Covaxin would be sent to states and UTs. The administration of the third dose or booster dose for frontline workers, health workers and vulnerable citizens will start from 10th January. The government is yet to make a decision on booster shots for all amid a threat of the third wave of the pandemic. Covid-Bulletin: India Records 33,750 New Covid-19 Cases; Total Omicron Cases At 1700

According to the latest data released by the union health ministry, India recorded 33,750 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload of the country currently stands at 1,45,582. Meanwhile, the country has registered 10,846 recoveries in the previous 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 3,42,95,407. The daily and weekly positivity rates currently stand at 3.84% and 1.68%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 68.09 crore total covid-19 tests so far. On the vaccination front, India has administered 145.68 crore covid-19 vaccine doses so far under the nationwide vaccination drive. The union health ministry also released the statewise status of Omicron cases, with a cumulative total at 1,700. Union Health Minister Says Omicron Could Overwhelm The Medical System Of India

On Sunday, union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya noted that states are still under-using the covid-19 funds to ramp up the health infrastructure such as oxygen beds, ICU amid the rising cases of the Omicron variant. While reviewing the Omicron threat, Mr Mandaviya said that states have collectively used only 17% of the available approved funds under the Emergency Covid Response Package (ECPR-II). He also added that due to the Omicron variant, many countries are experiencing three to four times a surge in cases compared to their earlier peaks and that the Omicron variant could really overwhelm the Indian medical system. The health minister said that states should do everything to ramp up the health infrastructure so as to manage the high surge in covid-19 cases and ensure that India escapes unscratched from this wave of the pandemic. https://youtu.be/VGaNgX4hUOA

RRR Postponed: Film's Postponement Could Result In Rs 10 Crore Refund 

After multiple states closed theatres and multiplexes amid rising covid-19 cases, the makers of RRR released an official notification saying that they have decided to postpone the film's release date. With the postponement, the SS Rajamouli directed film is going to suffer a huge setback as the refunds might take place due to advance bookings, and there will be a loss of around Rs 10 crore. Speaking about the same, Trade Analyst Atul Mohan said: "We have been given to understand that is about Rs 8 to 10 crore, and if the film gets pushed, that could be refunded. But it is definitely a huge setback for the exhibition sector." The RRR film features Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn and is the most-awaited film of 2022. The makers of the film released an official notification and said: "Inspite of our relentless efforts, some situations are beyond our control. As many Indian states are closing theatres, we are left with no choice but to ask you to hold on to your excitement.
