On the condition of being anonymous, a BCCI source told PTI: “Yes, one of the players has tested positive although he is largely asymptomatic currently. He is in quarantine at an acquaintance’s place and won’t be travelling with the team to Durham on Thursday,” While the team has been tight-lipped about the name of the player, there are chances that the player has been infected with the Delta variant of covid-19 since the UK is recording a rise in covid-19 cases due to the same variant. The Indian team will be facing England in a five-match test series starting on 4th August.
