Justice For Ankita: A Call For Justice To One-Sided Love Victim

Justice For Ankita: A Call For Justice To One-Sided Love Victim

In the midnight hours of Sunday, Ankita Kumari, a student of class 12th from Jharkhand' Dumka district, took her last breath as she was set ablaze by her neighbour Shahrukh Hussain a few days ago. The incident instigated a call for "Justice for Ankita" among community members. According to sources, Ankita's neighbour Shahrukh fell in one-sided love with her. However, Ankita did not feel the same for him, so she rejected his proposal. Angered by the rejection, Shahrukh started stalking her every day and tried to approach her, seeking her friendship. He even took her number and used to call her repeatedly. Irritated with all those attempts, when Ankita chastised him for not stopping, Shahrukh threatened to kill her. The threat call Ankita shared with her father. However, she was unaware that when she will wake up on August 23, she would be set ablaze by Shahrukh. Following the incident, Shahrukh fled from the scene, and Ankita was admitted to the nearby hospital, where she took her last breath on Sunday night, as informed by Ankita's father. As of now, Jharkhand police have arrested the culprit and started an investigation into the matter.  In addition, the district administration imposed section 144 in the Dumka district as right-wing groups got out onto the street to stage protests against the said incident. https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1564118114920308738 https://twitter.com/TrulyMonica/status/1564123065696792576
