Kashmir: Targeted Killings Persuades Kashmiri Pandits To Explore Options Outside The Valley

After the recent killings of Kashmiri Pandits in the Kashmir valley, the community decided to call off their protests and express their frustration over official inaction on Thursday. As the targeted killings of the Kashmiri Pandits continue to grow in Kashmir, many employed in the valley under the Prime Minister's rehabilitation package are exploring other options outside the valley. Many media houses spoke to the Kashmiri Pandits, who are housed in two main secured camps in Sheikhpora, Budgam and Haal, Pulwama. "We are all moving back to Jammu," said a Kashmiri Pandit employee. "We are all consulting each other on when we could leave. The consensus among all employees is that we have to leave. We cannot continue to risk our lives," said another. As of March 2021, the Ministry of Home Affairs, while responding to a question in the Parliament, said that out of the 6,000 sanctioned posts, nearly 3,800 migrant candidates have returned to the Kashmir valley to take up jobs under the PM package. After the union government revoked Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir, around 520 candidates returned to the valley to take up such jobs. However, the brutal killings of a government employee, school teacher, bank manager and labour have again made Kashmir an unsafe place for minorities. After days of protests over what they say is an administrative failure, the Kashmiri Pandit community has decided to move out of the Kashmir valley and locate to some safe places.  https://youtu.be/7eTBc51otUs

Why Look For Shivling In Every Mosque Says RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat

After the recent string of controversies around the Kashi Vishwanath Temple-Gyanvapi Mosque matter, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat said there is a need to look for a path through mutual agreement. While addressing an event in Nagpur, Mr Bhagwat said: "Gyanvapi matter is ongoing. We can't change history. Neither today's Hindus nor today's Muslims created it. It happened at that time. Islam came from outside via attackers. In the attacks, Devsthans were demolished to exhaust the morale of those who wanted India's independence" "Issues were raised over places in which Hindus have a special devotion. Hindus don't think against Muslims. The ancestors of today's Muslims were Hindus too. It was done to keep them forever devoid of independence and suppress morale. So Hindus feel they (religious places) should be restored," he added. The RSS chief also said that the group is not opposed to any other form of worship and considers all of them sacred. "Why should we escalate the dispute? We have devotion towards Gyanvapi, and doing something as per that it's alright. But why look for a Shivling in every masjid?" said the RSS chief. The Varanasi District Court has deferred the Gyanvapi Mosque matter till July 4. Meanwhile, the Allahabad High Court recently rejected a petition seeking an inquiry into the history of the Taj Mahal. A Delhi Court has also reserved its order on the plea seeking restoration of Hindu and Jain deities inside the Qutub Minar complex for June 9. However, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has opposed the petition saying Qutub Minar is not a place of worship.  https://youtu.be/s2VUXYNv424
