Lawyers of Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty filed a defamation case against Sherlyn Chopra

The lawyers of  Shilpa Shetty and her Businessman husband Raj Kundra have filed a defamation case against actress Sherlyn Chopra. This move comes against the backdrop of an event that had happened in the past, where the duo’s lawyers sent a notice of defamation to Sherlyn Chopra, after which she’d lodged an FIR against them citing Sexual and Mental Harassment. The couple’s lawyer Prashant P Patil has sent a notice of defamation against the actress after which the actress had filed an FIR against the couple. Following this event the couple has taken action against the actress through assistance of their legal team and filed a civil/criminal suit against the actress seeking an apology and rupees 50 crore as compensation. The statement issued informed that, “ Sherlyn Chopra, has committed offences u/s 499,550,389 and 195(A) of the IPC 1860”. The actress has made false allegations against the couple in the backdrop of recent events in which Raj Kundra was arrested in Mumbai porn racket case.  Their official statement reads, “ The entire allegations made by Sherlyn Chopra  against Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty Kundra, are concocted, false, fake, frivolous, baseless, without any evidence, even to Ms. Sherlyn Chopra’s knowledge, and have been made with an ulterior motive to defame and extort money.” The notice sent by lawyer Patil asks Chopra to refrain from making any false comments publicly or through press releases or any kind of social media platforms against the couple without any evidence or findings. Sherlyn would also have to bear the cost of notice which sums Rs. 1,00,000.
