Lists Of Candidates Along With Roll Number Recovered From Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee’s House: ED To Court

During an investigation process, the ED recovered a list of 48 candidates along with their roll numbers, documents related to the appointment of Group D staff, and a list of candidates for other posts from the letterhead of former TMC MLA Partha Chatterjee.

As per court orders obtained by a news agency, “The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recovered the above-mentioned documents from West Bengal Industry and Commerce Minister Partha Chatterjee’s home. The ED recovered documents while searching the minister’s premises on July 22 in connection with the state school jobs scam“.

Partha Chatterjee is a minister and the secretary general of the ruling TMC. The ED arrested him on July 23 in a case related to irregularities in the recruitment process. The scam occurred in 2016 when he was the state’s Education Minister. He is accused of using dubious measures in appointing candidates for various governmental posts.

The ED also recovered allegedly linked documents of ‘immovable properties’ and ‘companies’ of Partha Chatterjee ‘s aide and co-accused in the case, Arpita Mukherjee. The ED stated that “Chatterjee was in ‘regular contact’ with Mukherjee through a specific mobile number“.

The central agencies are investigating alleged irregularities in the recruitment of Group C and D staff and teachers in government and aided schools, as per the recommendations of the West Bengal School Service Commission and directions of the Calcutta High Court.
