Maharashtra Political Crisis: Eknath Shinde To Release List of Rebel MLAs At 2 PM

Visuals are coming in from Assam’s Guwahati, where Shiv Sena rebel Eknath Shinde along with other rebel MLAs, are currently camping. As per reports, Eknath Shinde is going to release the list of rebel Shiv Sena MLAs at 2 PM today. Meanwhile, a list has been released by the MVA government containing the names of Shiv Sena MLAs who are with Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Yesterday night, Maha CM Uddhav Thackeray and his family left his official CM residence ‘Varsha‘ and moved into his family home ‘Matoshree’. A closed-door meeting of NCP is currently underway at the residence of NCP Patriarch Sharad Pawar between NCP Chief, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, State Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil and ministers Jitendra Awhad, Jayant Patil and Party Leader Sunil Tatkare. Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said: “When they will come to Mumbai, everything will be clear. Look at our faces, do we look tensed? Just by saying that they are ‘Bala Saheb Bhakt’ does not help. Those who leave the party are not Bala Saheb bhakts. The real bhakts will stay with the party till the last breath.” “No plan to approach Raj Bhavan today. The focus today is on the number game and to get everything together. Out strategy meeting will take place this afternoon.” said a source close to Eknath Shinde. Meanwhile, the MVA government has accused the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) of ‘orchestrating‘ the rebellion and has claimed that the rebel MLAs have been threatened with action from central agencies. As per sources, Eknath Shinde wants Shiv Sena to walk out of the ‘unnatural alliance‘ and claims that he has the support of enough MLAs. He has also added that the alliance has only benefitted the NCP and the Congress and that most of the Shiv Sainiks have suffered in the last two-and-a-half-year due to the existence of the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress alliance. Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray is ready to resign from the post of the Maharashtra Chief Minister and has said: “If my own people do not want me, I don’t want to stick to power. I am ready with my resignation letter even if one rebel comes and tells me face to face that he doesn’t want me as chief minister. I am also ready to quit as Shiv Sena president if Shiv Sainiks tell me so. I face challenges head-on and never turn my back on them. Hindutva is Shiv Sena’s breath. I was the first CM to speak about Hindutva in the Legislative Assembly,”

Presidential Election 2022: Fight Between Two Opposing Ideologies Says UPA’s Pick Yashwant Sinha

On Wednesday, former Union Finance Minister and UPA’s presidential pick Yashwant Sinha said that he has high regard for NDA’s pick Droupadi Murmu, but the fight isn’t between two individuals but two opposing ideologies. Yashwant Sinha, who was once part of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), quit the party and joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in March 2021, said that the ‘other ideology‘ believes that the ‘country’s President should not have his/her own mind to function but serve as a rubber stamp to do the government’s bidding. Meanwhile, he also thanked the opposition parties’ leaders for choosing him for the Presidential Polls and reposing faith and confidence in him. “I assure them – and the people of India – that, if elected, I shall conscientiously uphold, without fear or favour, the basic values and guiding ideas of the Indian Constitution. In particular, as the custodian of the Constitution, I shall not allow the light of democracy and secularism to be dimmed by the executive,” said Yashwant Sinha’s statement. He also added that if selected as the country’s first citizen, he would raise for all common people, including farmers, women, unemployed youth, workers and all marginalised sections of the society. Yashwant Sinha is said to be a ‘Modi-baiter‘ and has always been a vocal critic of the current BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Presidential Election is scheduled to take place on July 18, and the results will be declared on July 21.
