Pakistan Floods Creates Havoc, PM Modi Talks To Extend Aid

Amid rising food security concerns caused due to Pakistan floods, Pakistan, on Monday, conveyed its intentions to restart trade with India on several essential goods, including vegetables and other edible items from India. According to media reports, Pakistani Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said the country's government is thinking of reconsidering its stand on vegetables and other edible items imported from India. The country is considering this proposal so as to felicitate people in the wake of the destruction of standing crops due to the recent Pakistan floods. The bilateral and commercial relations between the two nations came to a standstill after Islamabad decided to downgrade diplomatic ties with India in 2019.  Earlier on Monday, PM Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims of the Pakistan floods. He wrote, "Saddened to see the devastation caused by the floods in Pakistan. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the injured and all those affected by this natural calamity and hope for an early restoration of normalcy".  https://twitter.com/OpIndia_com/status/1564249258555047936 https://twitter.com/narendramodi/status/1564254916134473728
