Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif: ‘3 Wars With India Introduced Poverty, Unemployment; Learnt Our Lesson’

Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif: ‘3 Wars With India Introduced Poverty, Unemployment; Learnt Our Lesson’

With Pakistan witnessing both terror-related violence and a crippled economy, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for honest talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi. In an interview with Dubai-based television channel Al Arabiya which has gone viral, Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif can be heard saying: “My message to the Indian management and PM Modi is that allow us to sit down on the desk and have critical and honest talks to resolve our burning points like Kashmir. It’s as much as us to stay peacefully and make progress or quarrel with one another, and waste time and assets,” Shehbaz Sharif finally agreed that the wars fought between India and Pakistan has only introduced poverty, unemployment and misery in Pakistan. He said: “We now have three wars with India, and it solely introduced extra distress, poverty and unemployment to the individuals. We now have learnt our lesson, and we wish to stay in peace, but for that, we should be capable of resolving our real issues,” “God forbids, if a warfare breaks out, who will stay to tell what had happened” Shehbaz Sharif added while acknowledging the fact that both sides are nuclear powers and well armed. The Pakistan PM’s shocking comments come at a time when Pakistan is dealing with terror-related violence, political instability and economic crisis. In fact, the Foreign Direct Investment inflows have hit rock bottom, registering a decline of more than 50%. The reaction from the Indian side is still awaited.

UNSC Lists Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Leader Abdul Rehman Makki as Global Terrorist, Year After China’s Blocked Attempt

On Monday, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) listed Lashkar-e-Taiba leader and Pakistan-based terrorist Abdul Rehman Makki as a global terrorist under its ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee. Last year, China had put on India’s bid to recognise Abdul Rehman Makki as a global terrorist under the Sanctions Committee. India has also slammed China for blocking its proposal. Makki has already been listed as a terrorist in India and the United States. He has been accused of raising funds, radicalising youth and planning attacks on India, especially in Jammu and Kashmir. Makki is the brother-in-law of 26/11 mastermind Hafeez Saeed. This is not the first time that China has blocked a proposal by India. Earlier, China had placed hurdles to designate Maulana Masood Azhar, Chief of the UN-proscribed terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).
