Pfizer Covid-19 Vaccine Less Effective on Omicron than On Others Trains Suggest Studies


Omicron causes a significant reduction in the levels of neutralizing antibodies produced by people who have received both doses of the Pfizer covid-19 vaccine. Researchers based in South Africa have conducted a study and found that the Pfizer vaccine is providing less immunity to omicron than other variants of the virus. Experts have said that even though the vaccine is robust it does not offer complete protection and fails to completely mitigate the disease caused by this new strain. According to company officials, there will be more breakthroughs of vaccine-induced immunity as pushed the idea of receiving booster doses for protecting individuals against new variants. A booster dose is expected to decrease the chances of severe infection to more severe diseases.  However, these are early studies on the efficacy of existing vaccines against omicron. The preliminary results have questioned the immune protection from the vaccine. According to a WHO official no indication suggests existing vaccines are failing to protect people infected with omicron and its worst outcomes.

120 Opposition MPS to Join Sitting against Suspension of Rajya Sabha Members

Several opposition MPs from the Lok Sabha are likely to join the protest in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue at the parliament along with their Rajya Sabha counterparts. There will be at least 120 opposition MPS of the Rajya Sabha who will be joining the set in protest in the parliament complex. It is the move to show agitation against the suspension of 12 members of the upper house and consultations over fresh offensive against the ruling side. Out of the 12 MPs, 6 are from the Congress, 2 from Trinamool Congress and 2 from Shivsena, 1 from Communist Party Of India, and 1 from Communist Party Of India Marxist holding will engage in an indefinite sit-in. Last week they a suspended for the remaining of the winter session after the House approved a motion seeking their suspension.

Jacqueline Fernandez to Be Questioned By ED over Extortion Case

Recently Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez has been summoned by the enforcement directorate on Wednesday to enquire about an ongoing money-laundering investigation against Sukesh Chandrasekhar and others. The summon notice was sent on December 6th and she is testifying before the agency as a witness. The actor was detained at the Mumbai airport minutes before she was supposed to fly abroad. Some of the officials with their port and prevented her from traveling and asked her to remain in the country joining the investigation. According to reports the federal agency is investigating a ?200 crore money laundering case involving Chandrashekhar and his wife Leena Maria Paul. He is accused of cheating high-profile individuals.
