POK Was, Is, And Will Remain A Part Of India, Said Rajnath Singh


Latest On Kargil Vijay Diwas 2022: On Sunday, July 24, 2022, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that today’s India is one of the most powerful nations in the world. He made his statements while delivering a speech in Jammu to mark Kargil Vijay Diwas. "A resolution was passed in the Parliament of India on Pak-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Pak Occupied Kashmir was a part of India, is and will remain a part of India. How can it be that Baba Amarnath in the form of Lord Shiva is with us and Mother Sharda Shakti is on the other side of the LoC", he said. He further added, "Will remember those who laid their lives in service of the country. Our Army has always made this supreme sacrifice for our country. Rajnath Singh On Nehru

Pointing to Pandit Nehru, Mr Singh said, “In 1962, China captured our area in Ladakh, with Pandit Nehru as our PM. I will not question his intentions. Intentions can be good, but the same does not apply to policies. However, today's India is one of the most powerful countries in the world”.

Establishment Of Joint Theatre Commands

During his speech, Rajnath Singh emphasized the need to set up joint theatre commands of the tri-services. He stated that the coordination among the country's defence forces is the need of the hour, which will achieve only through the establishment of joint theatre command. Support To Families Of Kargil Martyrs

Paying tributes to soldiers martyred in the Kargil war, Rajnath Singh said the country will always remember the supreme sacrifice made by brave hearts for safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. He urged society, “It is the duty of the society and the people to give their utmost respect to the martyrs and their families. So, whatever support you can offer, do it for their (martyrs) families. Singh’s Remarks On Defence Production

Mentioning the country’s defence production progress, the minister pointed out, “India was the world's largest importer (of defence products). Today, its image has changed from the earlier picture, as India is counted among the top 25 nations engaged in defence exports. With this image, it is moving quickly to become the world’s largest exporter of defence equipment”. He prospected that, “The country has started defence exports worth Rs 13,000 crore, and currently it has fixed a target to increase it to Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000 crore by 2025-26”.
