Russia-Ukraine War: Putin Orders Russia’s Nuclear Forces To Be Prepared
The east-west conflict continues to escalate and might turn into nuclear warfare. Amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday ordered Russian nuclear forces to be on high alert in response to the steps taken by leading NATO countries. In a Television broadcast, Putin said: “Western countries aren’t only taking unfriendly actions against our country in the economic sphere, but top officials from leading NATO members made aggressive statements regarding our country,” The order of putting nuclear forces on alert means that Mr Putin has made up his mind of preparing nuclear weapons for the launch which raises the threat of potential nuclear warfare. Earlier this week, the Russian President had warned that Russia would retaliate harshly against any nations that directly intervenes in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Covid-Bulletin: India logs 8,013 New Covid-19 Cases; Recovery Rate At 98.56%
According to the latest data released by the union health ministry, India has registered 8,013 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload of the country currently stands at 1,02,601. Meanwhile, daily recoveries continue to outnumber active covid-19 cases, with recording 16,765 recoveries in the previous 24 hours. The total recoveries in the country currently stand at 4,23,07,686. The daily and weekly positivity rates currently stand at 1.11% and 1.17%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 76.74 crore covid-19 tests so far. On the vaccination front, India has administered 177.50 crore covid-19 vaccine doses so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

Indian Government Continues To Evacuate Indian Nationals From Ukraine Under Operation Ganga
This morning, the 5th flight carrying Indian nationals from Ukraine landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The flight carrying 249 nationals arrived from Bucharest in Romania, from where stranded nationals are being brought back to the country. The Indian government has set up a dedicated mission to bring back Indian nationals from Ukraine under operation Ganga. Amid growing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, the Indian Embassy on Sunday issued an advisory stating: “All Indian Citizens in Ukraine are advised not to move to any of the border posts without prior coordination with Government of India officials at the border posts and the Emergency numbers of Embassy of India, Kyiv. The embassy is finding it increasingly difficult to help the crossing of those Indian nationals who reach border checkpoints without prior intimation,” Currently, around 16,000 Indian students are still stranded in Ukraine. Many of them have posted videos photos on social media, making desperate appeals for help. They have been sheltering in underground bunkers and bomb shelters to protect themselves from Russian bombs and missiles.

Assembly Elections 2022: Manipur Votes In The first Phase For 38 Seats
The 2 – phase polling began in the northeastern state of Manipur today, with the Bhartiya Janata Party hoping to get a second term in power. Till 9 am, 38 seats across 5 districts have recorded an average voter turnout of nearly 10%. In 2017, the Congress party had emerged as the single largest party winning 28 out of 60 seats. However, the BJP formed a government in the state by forming an alliance with the National People’s Party and the Naga People’s Front. Today’s polling in the state covers 29 seats in Imphal West, Imphal East and Bishnupur. The rest are in the hilly areas of Kangpokpi, Churachandpur and Pherzawl.

After a lot of controversies, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt, was released on 25th February 2022. The Nizam / Andhra circuit will do 2.60-2.70 crore nett in Hindi which is a very big number considering a huge Telugu release which has done well over the weekend. It will be a standout collection for the film as per circuits go. Mumbai will finish with around 12.50-13 crore nett which also good though Delhi / UP could have done better as it will finish at around 6 crore nett,”
