Supreme Court’s Crucial Hearing On Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanvapi Mosque Matter Today
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court is scheduled to have a crucial hearing on the Kashi Vishwanath Temple – Gyanvapi Mosque matter. The plea has been filed by the management of the Gyanvapi Mosque against a court-ordered videography survey being done at the Gyanvapi-Shrinagar Gauri Complex in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. On Monday, a videography survey was done at the complex, and the survey team allegedly found ‘shivling’ inside. The Varanasi Court also directed the district administration to seal the spot of the survey. As per the updated list of business of the Top Court, a bench of Justices D Y Chandrachud and PS Narsimha will be hearing the plea of the Committee of Management Anjuman Intezamia Masjid.
Covid-Bulletin: India Registers 1,569 New Cases; Recovery Rate At 98.75%
According to the latest data released by the union health ministry, India has registered 1,569 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload of the country currently stands at 16,400. Meanwhile, daily recoveries continue to outnumber active covid-19 cases, with recording 2,467 recoveries in the previous 24 hours. The total recoveries have reached 4,25,84,710. The daily and weekly positivity rates currently stand at 0.44% and 0.59%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 84.44 crore covid-19 tests so far. On the vaccination front, India has administered 191.48 crore covid-19 vaccine doses so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

CBI Conducts Raids At 9 Premises of Senior Congress Leader P Chidambaram’s Son Karti
On Tuesday morning, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) started raiding 9 premises of Senior Congress Leader P Chidambaram’s son Karti across Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai. The CBI raid was conducted in connection with a new case of illegal gratification registered against Karti. As per the CBI officials, Congress Leader and Lok Sabha MP Karti have been booked for allegedly receiving foreign remittances for companies directly/indirectly linked to him. Taking to Twitter, Karti P Chidambaram wrote: “I have lost count, how many times has it been? Must be a record,” In 2017, the Central Bureau of Investigation conducted raids at the residence of P Chidambaram and son Karti in connection to criminal misconduct in grant of Foreign Investment Promotion Board Approval. Meanwhile, police officers have been deployed outside former Finance Minister P Chidambaram’s residence in Chennai.

India-Nepal Relation Is As Ancient As The Himalayas Says PM Modi In Nepal
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Nepal and met with Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. While addressing a gathering in Lumbini, PM Modi said: “I had said in Janakpur that ‘without Nepal, our Lord Ram is also incomplete. I am aware that people of Nepal are feeling equally happy as an elegant temple for Lord Shri Ram is being built in India,” “Visiting Nepal is not a political matter for me, It gives me a spiritual experience,” added PM Modi. After the Indian leader visited Nepal, he first offered prayers at the Mahadevi Temple. He then performed the ‘shilanyas’ ceremony along with the Nepalese PM to launch the construction of the India International Centre for Buddhist Culture and Heritage in the Lumbini Monastic Zone. Both the leaders had a round of bilateral talks and signed five agreements, including the implementation of the 490.2 megawatts Arun-4 hydropower project. Prime Minister Modi also assured the Nepalese PM Sher Bahadur Deuba of India’s continued support for the developmental and energy projects in Nepal.
