MTV Roadies is the Perfect Recipe of Adventure
Reality shows like MTV Roadies have multiple seasons and are running for years despite all criticism, but there is something that they are doing right, and in this article, we will talk about why India’s youth is glued to watching Roadies.
When it comes to reality shows, Roadies has all kinds of drama, travel, and adventure. Unlike other reality shows, which mostly deal with love and romance, Roadies stands out because of the adrenaline rush it gives to its viewers. Right from the auditions to the journey, It has all sorts of adventures involved.
One thing that is unique about Roadies is the tasks, they are really entertaining to watch, and man, you need good physical strength to pull that off. Most of the people tend to watch Roadies because of the tasks and one more reason, the bikes; they are the star of the show, and it’s a dream of many youngsters to ride a bike with Rannvijay Singha or Prince Narula.
The concept of the show was originally created by Raghu Ram, Rajiv Lakshman, and RJ Amit, who were quite famous for their extreme use of violent language in the auditions (Those episodes are still trending meme material)
If you have watched those seasons, all you can recall is beep…beep…and beep. But in 2014, Raghu and Rajiv left the show and told the media that they have already popularised the show and wanted to give opportunity to the new generation. Rannvijay Singha, who was the winner of Roadies season 1, took on the position and is still, holding on to it.
From 2015, the whole concept of roadies was changed with no reduction in drama or adventure. Gangs and Gang leaders were introduced. And in season 12, Roadies got its most loved and famous contestant of all time, the king of reality shows, Prince Narula, who also happened to win the show and gained a huge fan following.

Roadies have always provided an excellent platform for new faces. Remember the winner of Roadies season 2? It’s none other than Ayushman Khurana, who has become a known face in Bollywood now. The actor started his journey from Roadies and recalling the same, “I am really surprised that I was in ‘Roadies’ 15 years ago, and it’s the 17th season now. I am glad that the show has garnered TRP. I am really proud of Rannvijay (Rannvijay Singha) that he is taking it forward so well.” said Ayushman while speaking to News18.com.
The show provides exposure to the youngsters to kick start their career, and we also see a lot of inspiring stories on the show. To conclude, Roadies is one of the longest-running shows in India with 18 seasons. Recently, MTV Roadies completed its 18th season (Roadies Revolution). The shoot of the season was delayed because of the lockdown, but it came back with a bang, and the best part is all the money that the show earned during different tasks was donated to various organisations.
