Champions League Update: Chelsea And PSG Favourites To Qualify
Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain are currently in an advantageous position to qualify for the semifinal of the Champions League ahead of the second leg of their respective ties. Chelsea have beaten Porto with a margin of 2-0 in the first leg in an away game. So, it will certainly be difficult for Porto to overcome the deficit of two away goals in this tie. On the other hand, Paris Saint Germain will be eyeing to take the revenge of previous season’s final by eliminating Bayern Munich in this round. PSG are ahead with a margin of 3-2 in the away game of this tie and now they will welcome the German side in Paris.

Mateo Kovacic might miss the match for Chelsea as he has picked up a knock in the training session. So, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante will be playing as the midfield duo for the Blues. Billy Gilmour has not been included in the squad of Chelsea for this match. Chelsea will have to play against Manchester City in the semifinal of the FA Cup this weekend. So, it will be quite interesting to see how Thomas Tuchel fields his side against Porto.

Chelsea have beaten Crystal Palace with a margin of 4-1 in the Premier League this weekend. It has been Chelsea’s best attacking display under the management of Thomas Tuchel. Timo Werner has not been a part of Chelsea’s starting XI in that match. The German International is currently not showing much confidence in front of the Goal. So, Thomas Tuchel might be opting to play Kai Havertz in the number nine position after his brilliant performance in the weekend. Bayern Munich are going to miss Robert Lewandowski, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, Niklas Sule and Corentin Tolisso in this game against Paris Germain. So, they will have to rely on Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting as the lone centre forward. Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman will be playing important roles for Bayern Munich in this match. On the other hand, Paris Saint Germain will miss the service of their star defender Marquinhos in this game. So, Danilo Pereira might play with Presnel Kimpembe in the central defense.
