IND VS UAE: India suffers an embarrassing defeat with 0-6 against UAE in Second International Football Friendly

29th March was indeed not a good day for the Indian Football team as they suffered a major defeat at the hands of the United Arab Emirates team so much so that they couldn’t even get a single shot right. The IND VS UAE match ended with a 0-6 scoreboard.  In the Second International Football Friendly at Zabeel Stadium, Abu Dhabi, the Indian football team put up a rather dead performance against UAE. This was their heaviest defeat against the Gulf side.  While Ali Mabkhout completed his hat-trick, Khalil Ibrahim gave a first-time shot to bring the scoreboard at 4-0. Fabio Lima then took the field and achieved two more goals.  After suffering a rather embarrassing defeat against UAE, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has a lot of mistakes to improve, redouble their efforts in preparing the team for the field and give the players more practice to perform better.  Things were looking hopeful only when Manvir Singh took a promising shot, but the striker’s shot was blocked by the UAE keeper.  Holding the 104th position in FIFA’s ranking, India played a draw (1-1) against Oman at the first international, but no one anticipated such a massive defeat in the second international football friendly. UAE is ranked at the 74th position.  The history between IND VS UAE has been such that UAE has mostly secured the winning. This was the 15th international match between the two, out of which ten has been won by UAE, and India could only secure three winnings; the remaining two were drawn matches.  In 2010, UAE defeated India by 0-5 in an international friendly in Abu Dhabi; but the Monday defeat superseded the 2010 match.  The Monday match saw the Indian team quite confused, clueless on how to hold the ball and create chances to seal a winning.  The International matches are played as part of the preparations for the joint quantification round of World Cup 2022 and Asian Cup 2023 scheduled for the month of June.
