IPL 2021 Has Been Postponed

BCCI and IPL Governing Council unanimously decided to adjourn IPL 2021 with immediate effect. The decision was made due to the increase of Covid-19 spread.

UAE hosted IPL 2020 due to Covid-19, and this time also UAE should have hosted IPL again instead of India, said former left-arm pacer Karsan Ghavri. He also feels that the safety of the players most important.

The condition in India is very bad, and IPL should have been played in UAE or any other country rather than India. India should have opted for the UAE for IPL2021 just like last year, said Ghavri.

After the clash between RCB and KKR, the match that was scheduled to be played on Monday has been postponed because two players from KKR were tested positive for Covid-19.

The match between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super King has also been postponed after CSK’s member L Balaji was tested positive for Covid-19.

BCCI finally decided to call off the tournament after Delhi Capital’s Amit Mishra and Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Wriddhiman Saha tested corona positive.

There is a huge fan following of IPL in India, but the health of players is more important. Hence, postponing IPL is crucial for now.

What was the problem or harm in hosting the IPL2021 in UAE? We have all the facilities in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, and Dubai. The UAE should have been considered for hosting IPL2021 in the first place, further said Ghavri.
