Jofra Archer Targets T20 World Cup For Perfect Comeback


The world is eager to know when Jofra Archer will be making his return. Some of the fans were hopeful that he would a comeback in the IPL. Others felt that it could in the Test series against India, which would motivate him to return. Despite that, it seems that the English pacer has other plans. He has now revealed that he wants to make his big comeback at the T20 World Cup. The player who has been part of the Rajasthan Royals wants to be patient in making his return. He does not feel the need to rush back to cricket right now. He just wants to make the return as smooth as possible, due to the cricket that is there to be played.

What Did Jofra Archer Say About His Return For The T20 World Cup This Year?

In his recent interview with the DailyMail, Jofra Archer came out and said, "One thing I am determined about the post-elbow operation is not to rush my comeback. This is because my primary focus is to be playing for England in the Twenty20 World Cup and the Ashes later this year. Those are my main targets. My hope now is that I am fit. I want to be as effective as the old me in the not-too-distant future. That is so that I can play a key role in the two big events at the end of 2021." Well, it is a good thing that Jofra Archer has his priorities set straight. However, he would surely need some match-fitness before he can make a comeback to these crucial tournaments. England will be keen on leaving their mark in the competitions and so will Archer. If England plays well, they can be serious contenders to win the T20 World Cup. They are already champions of the 50-over format and their squad depth is tremendous. Let's wait and watch what happens next, with regards to the return of Jofra Archer to cricketing action.
