SSC CGL 2022 Notification Out: Check Exam Date, Exam Pattern, Vacancies and More


The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has recently issued official notification to fill various vacancies in the Grade B and Grade C categories of various central ministries, departments and offices. Having a job in the central government office is a dream for many young aspirants. In fact, candidates dedicate their year-long time to prepare for SSC CGL exam.  Earlier, SSC used to follow a multi-stage selection approach for candidate’s recruitment. However, it has now changed its criteria by following a two-tier approach. Tiers are basically the stages to filter out candidates for the desired job role. This year, the merit list of the selected candidates will be prepared as per the result of the Tier II test. The SSC CGL 2022 notification mentions the number of vacancies the commission is looking to fill through the test. What Are The Job Roles?

SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) test is also one of the biggest examinations for graduate candidates in India. Along with the security of livelihood, SSC CGL offers a great opportunity to young graduates who are looking to work in a reputed department under the central government. This year, SSC will fill vacancies in the following government departments through its recruitment drive:
  • Assistants in Central Ministries/Departments.
  • Inspectors of Central Excise and Customs department.
  • Inspectors of Income Tax (IT) department.
  • Preventive Officers in Customs department.
  • Examiners in the Customs department.
  • Sub-Inspectors in Central Bureau of Narcotics and CBI.
  • Assistant Enforcement Officers in Enforcement Directorate and Revenue Department.
  • Divisional Accountants, Junior Accountants, Auditors and UDCs in various central government offices.
  • Auditor officers for C&AG, CGDA, CGA, etc.
  • Accountants/Junior Accountants.
  • Tax assistants in CBDT and CBEC.
  • Compilers in Registrar General of India.
 

SSC CGL 2022 Exam Date

According to the official notification, the registration process has started from September 17 and will last till October 8, 2022. Candidates can make necessary corrections in their forms from October 12, 2022, to October 13, 2022.   Following the completion of the application process, Tier I exams will start in December 2022. The admit card for the same will be available on the website 15 days before the date of the examination.

Important Details About SSC CGL Exam Application

The application process has also started with the release of the public notice. To apply for the test, a candidate will have to submit all his details along with the application fee of Rs 100 on the official site of SSC.  Female candidates or people belonging to SC, ST, Physically Handicapped (PH) and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from the application fee.  Candidates can pay the application fee through SBI either in the form of challan, Net Banking facility or through credit/debit card of any bank.

Eligibility for SSC CGL exam 2022

  1. Citizenship: To meet the eligibility criteria, a candidate must be a citizen of India.
  2. Age Limit: The age criteria for various job roles differ as per the job role. However, the general age criteria for candidates lie in the age group of 18 to 32 years.
  3. Educational Qualifications: To appear in the SSC CGL examination, a candidate must have a graduate-level degree from an affiliated university. For job roles of Auditors and accountants, candidates must have an educational background in mathematical or statistical field.
  4. Physical Fitness Requirements: Physical fitness is one of the most important criteria that candidates need to fulfill for the post of inspector or equivalent officer in central offices.

Selection Process For SSC CGL 2022

This year, SSC has revised the selection process for candidates. Now the exam will be conducted in two Tier format. The process will involve two stages of a computer-based online test. Candidates who successfully submit their forms will be assigned Roll numbers and admit cards for the Computer Based Examination (Tier I). Tier I Exam: This would be a computer-based test of qualifying nature. Candidates need to qualify this test to proceed for Tier II. Tier II Exam: This involves multiple papers as per the job requirements. In this stage (Tier), Paper I will be compulsory for all posts, while Paper II will be for candidates who apply for posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Paper III for candidates who apply for titles of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts officer. Notably, in Tier II test, all candidates will be required to appear in Paper I, II and III. However, only specific candidates will be shortlisted for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer through Paper II and Paper III, respectively.  Check official notification of SSC CGL Exam 2022 here: https://bit.ly/3DLwRDh
