Bollywood Stars who Failed to Create an Impact in the Business World

Many Bollywood celebrities who invested in other businesses as a side career are currently running successful ventures, but there is also the other side of the coin, some B town celebs who tried to turn into an entrepreneur but failed at it miserably.  Let’s look at the stars who turned unsuccessful entrepreneurs : 1. Amitabh Bachchan [caption id="attachment_5078" align="alignnone" width="747"]amitabh britannica Image Credits: Britannica.com[/caption] A well-known name in the film industry, Amitabh Bachchan has earned huge success, money and fame in Bollywood. There is hardly anyone who hasn’t heard about the Bachchan family, but the actor had his fair share of failures too. Amitabh founded Amitabh Bachchan Corporation (ABCL), a film production and event management company, in 1995. The company came into the limelight when it organised a gala miss world show in Bangalore in 1996. The show not only failed to generate any buzz but the company didn’t even had money to pay to its employees. A series of failed projects brought the company into a loss of Rs. 70.82 crore. Amitabh later admitted that the company went bankrupt.  2. Ameesha Patel [caption id="attachment_5080" align="alignnone" width="750"]ameesha instagram Image Credits: Instagram/Ameesha Patel[/caption] Known for her roles in films like Kaho Na Pyar Hai, Gaddar, Humraaz, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Race 2, Ameesha Patel, in 2013, launched her own production company (Ameesha Patel Productions) in collaboration with her business partner, Kuunal Goomer. The production company proved to be a failed attempt for the actor as the company has not even launched its debut home production, Desi Magic. The film is stuck in the post-production stage since 2015 and has not been released yet.  3. Preity Zinta [caption id="attachment_5081" align="alignnone" width="640"]preity instagram Image Credits: Instagram/Preity Zinta[/caption] The dimple girl of Bollywood, Preity Zinta, also tried her hands at the production business. The female actor has a decent Bollywood career and has given hit movies like Soldier, Koi Mil Gaya, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Veer Zaara, and Salaam Namaste. In 2011, she launched her own production company PZNZ Media and produced her first film, Ishkq in Paris. Despite Preity being in the movie, the film didn’t create any impact at the box office. The filming was done mostly in Europe at a very great expense, but the movie could only generate approximately 21.3 million. 4. Lara Dutta [caption id="attachment_5082" align="alignnone" width="822"]lara dutta instagram Image Credits: Instagram/Lara Dutta[/caption] The female actor won the prestigious Miss Universe crown in 2000 by beating Priyanka Chopra. The actor starred in several films like Andaaz, No Entry, Billu, Bhagam Bhag, and Housefull. Lara Dutta launched her production company, Big Daddy Productions, and released her first film Chalo Dilli in 2011. The movie had a decent success with mixed reviews. But post that, we haven’t heard about any other releases or about the production company. These actors could have just sticked to what they do best, and that’s acting.
