Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness Trailer - Did You Notice Tony Stark?

Marvel Studios is on its way to release Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. After releasing its first theatre show as the second episode of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Stephen Strange's sophomore instalment dropped its second trailer immediately following its Super Bowl TV spot. This comes almost three months before the Multiverse of Madness hit the theatres, bringing Marvel back to its famous May weekend for the first time since the 2017 release Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. While the new photos of Doctor Strange 2 did its best to keep the film's massive secrecy confidential, it gives fans a lot of watery frames to analyze. There are 12 Easter eggs, hidden descriptions, and details of the structure inside the latest Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer. All these hidden details have hyped up Marvel fans more than ever.  https://www.instagram.com/p/Cc0mmz-vFYi/

Nightmare Dimension

The trailer opens with Strange approaching the dark Sanctum Sanctorum, surrounded by fossils. The narrative refers to the scene as a dream, but the set's design suggests that this space could be a real place within a multi-sided MCU. This is evident in the Nightmare Dimension, which is a fact fueled by fear only. In comics, the Nightmare Dimension is rightly dominated by Nightmare, Dr. Strange's famous enemy of cutting-edge. While Nightmare’s face would be shown in Multiverse of Madness is far from confirmed, it is a card Marvel creators have been playing with for a long time now. Dr. Strange's 2016 director Scott Derrickson has time and again expressed his desire to include Nightmare in a future Strange project. Derrickson left Dr. Strange 2 for creative diversity, but that doesn't mean all his sense of sequence has been dispelled.

No Way Home Angle

Immediately on the trailer, Strange admits that he ‘did what [he was] supposed to do to protect our planet.’ This comes on the heels of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Dr. Strange throws spells to erase Peter Parker from the memory of the world to prevent multiversal madness. Is this referring to a multiversal error or something else? Wong says to Strange that ‘he opened a doorway between universes’ which cannot be closed easily once opened. This, combined with the Hex magic of WandaVision and the inspiring Loki assassination, could be a recipe for endless catastrophe across the MCU Multiverse.

NYC Skyline

The manipulation angle of the Marvel trailer may return. About 30 seconds into the trailer, a picture of New York City's sunset shines through as Strange recounts about ‘[protecting] our planet.’ While this sky is the New York City MCU, it is still important to observe it with a keen eye. Marvel has released digital prizes for previous promotions in an effort to send fans to an uncontrollable chase. Considering the number of remarkable monuments in Marvel mythos, it is not crazy to think that this skyline shot image might also have been played with.  Everything from the Baxter Building to the refurbished Avengers Tower may remain at the venue on May 6. With Spider-Man icon Sam Raimi in the director's chair, Oscorp HQ is also on the table.

Rintrah

Fans get their best look yet at the jolly green Minotaur in this trailer. This is Rintrah, a rare animal that often meets Dr. Strange on the page. While the first captions portray Rintrah as an opponent, this new video sets his status as a friend in Kamar-Taj. Here, Rintrah is ready to join the trained witches as dark smoke enters on the dojo.

Animated Dimension

What if...? the stock has just increased. In the redefinition of the word blink-and-miss-it, Strange America Chavez and Xochitl Gomez enter space and time, literally. The two dinosaurs pass by, breaking glass-like bars. In some frozen frames, Strange can be seen drifting into an animated dimension, which re-enacts its cartoon character. Animated projects such as What If ...? and the X-Men '97 have been rumored to be starring in  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for a while, but it has always been assumed that their cartoon characters might get live performances. This magnitude indicates that the Multiverse of Madness enters on both sides at some point, even if only within a short period of time.

Master Mordo

Chiwetel Ejiofor made his first appearance in MCU in 2016, but the toy leaks shows that the Mordo Character is not the same as the fans were introduced to six years ago. The Difference is Master Mordo, a version of the character who is thought to be the Supreme Witch of his world. Master Mordo plays the judge, jury, and murderer in this trailer, as he sadly describes the Strange’s Multiversal Mistakes ‘will not go unpunished’ Mordo appears later in a trailer with him, colliding with Strange chained. That battle involves Strange wearing significantly smaller handcuffs than the barriers he has previously moved, indicating that Mordo is strengthening them after their war ends.

Marvel's Illuminati

He may be the one to bring Strange in, but Mordo is not the only judge and jury in this trailer. Strange stands in front of the six-seated throne room, all covered in the shade. Although Professor X of Mordo and Patrick Stewart make up two of these councilmen, the remaining four remain a mystery. Having said that, the video of this secret society is reminiscent of Marvel's Illuminati. On the page, the Illuminati is a separate collection of Marvel specials. Unlike the Time Variance Authority, the Illuminati does not record time periods but adequately prepares for Avengers level threats. The band's most popular list includes Tony Stark, Reed Richards, Charles Xavier, Namor, Black Bolt, and Dr. Strange. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’s familiarity with the Illuminati is unlikely to be a direct copy of the comedy list, but there is reason to believe that the band's founder may be among the live-action ranks.

Ultron Sentries

As first reported by The Direct, the Ultron guards return to the video, directing Strange handcuffed in the Illuminati corridors. Well, what excites the most is that if Ultron bots make a comeback, their makers cannot be far behind!  The design of these Ultron watchers seems to be the work of Superior Iron Man, the Tony Stark Variant who drives up arrogance into the dangerous zone. Another version of Stark from the Multiverse of Madness has long been considered, and some believe to have caught a glimpse of him in the trailer.

Captain Marvel? Iron Man?

Wanda Maximoff's fight with this glorious aeroplane-based warrior is a Marvel Yanny vs. Laurel controversy.  At first glance, this seems to be a version of Captain Marvel's Maria Rambeau, as the famous star-shaped symbol can be spotted at the character's chest. Having said that, another figure seems to indicate a well-known goat, indicating that it may be the above-mentioned Superior Iron Man. Considering that Wanda is portrayed as an antagonist in the film, it makes perfect sense for to her to have a fight with Captain Marvel. Surrounding sculptures also show that the fight is might go down to the Illuminati HQ, despite Wanda rocking Friday's wardrobe. This could be a way back to WandaVision when the Scarlet Witch arrived at SWORD facilities wearing street clothes and broke into a lab that was disrupting Vision's remains. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cckj3ygh0SQ/

Return To Westview

The now infamous New Jersey town has not seen its last days in the MCU yet.  Towards the end of the trailer, Wanda faces herself inside her former Westview home. Wanda, casually dressed, comforts Scarlet, who is in her full uniform and had just knelt in a suburban living room.

Master Illusionist

That Darkhold is not a joke. Wanda's only line of dialogue comes as she teaches Dr Strange about the righteousness of ‘[breaking] the rules.’ Not only is Strange's expression shockingly strange, but his clothes are also very casual. Strange is wearing a scarf and jacket similar to the one that he was wearing when he asked Wanda earlier in the trailer about her knowledge about the Multiverse world. Not only that, but the blurry red background of the scene seems to include leafless trees. This indicates that not only are these two moments are happening in the same scene, but Wanda might be trying to manipulate the reality yet again.  https://www.instagram.com/p/CZwI3fVrySP/

White Blossoms

Symbolism is crazy in Doctor Strange 2. When Doctor Strange first encounters Wanda, she is trimming branches in a field of bright white trees, which are thought to be located on Mount Wundagore. In the literature, white flowers are viewed as a symbol of peace, while in the spirit world, white flowers are often viewed as antiquities. Surrounding Wanda with white flowering trees is a way for director Sam Raimi to express Wanda's inner peace. On the other hand, the shedding of those flowering trees when Wanda transforms into the Scarlet Witch only emphasizes the mental anguish she was experiencing at that time. Bright white trees can also be seen in Strange's Vision of the universe, where he is "heroic" and immortalized with a statue in front of the Sanctum Sanctorum. Where there is smoke, there is fire, and where there are white flowers, there is plenty of room for major twist and turns!  Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness releases on May 6 2022.
