The Shocking Age Gap Between Salman Khan And His Co-Stars

We are all die-hard Bollywood lovers, but one can't ignore the fact about the growing age gap between the hero and his leading ladies in the film. According to a data study done by The Indian Express to study the age gap between Salman Khan and his female co-stars, the average age of the female actors who have worked with Salman Khan in his three-decade-long career is 25. 493 years, implying that Khan has never had a co-star whose age was more than his age other than his co-star, Sridevi in the films, Chandra Mukhi (1993) and Chaand Kaa Tukdaa (1994). [caption id="attachment_8122" align="alignnone" width="300"]Salman Khan Image credits: The Indian Express[/caption] The bhaijaan of Bollywood have totally managed to look younger day by day, don't you agree? Well, the filmmakers and casting directors feel that way. Salman Khan entered Bollywood at the age of 23, with Biwi Ho Toh Aisi and with every film, Salman and his co-stars' age gap has increased drastically. The Dabangg actor's youngest co-star was Sneha Ullal of Lucky: No Time For Love (2005). Ullal was only 17 when she worked opposite Khan in the movie. While Bhai was approaching 50, he was paired opposite young female actors such as Ayesha Takia, Katrina Kaif and Sonam Kapoor. Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha's daughter, Sonakshi Sinha, who made her debut starring opposite Salman in the 2010 film, Dabangg was only 23 years old while Bhaijaan was 44. In fact, there are instances wherein younger female actors have portrayed the role of Salman's mother on-screen. The question isn't about a 55-year-old romancing a 20 years old but about the hypocrisy when the sides are swapped. While male actors continue to enjoy the leverage of working in Bollywood even after turning 60, female actors are often overlooked or typecasted to play specific roles after a certain age. In Salman Khan's latest movie, Radhe-Your Most wanted Bhai; he has been paired alongside Disha Patani, who is 27 years younger than him. While talking about how he looks the same age as his co-star, Khan said, "She has done a great job in the movie. She has looked very beautiful. We look the same age too. No, she did not look my age, I looked like hers.". The much-awaited film is set to release on 14th May. Well, we hope that the trend of a 50-year old male actor romancing a 20-something female actor is taken with the same spirit on the other side as well.
