Sit in a comfortable position

The first step is to choose a place where you can sit comfortably and without disturbance. Some people like to sit cross-legged on the ground, while some like to sit in a comfortable chair. One thing that you must always remember is to keep your back straight while meditating, as it helps prevent soreness during longer meditating sessions.

 

Close your eyes

The second step is to close your eyes and relax all your facial muscles gently. It’s vital not to squeeze your eyes very tight because your main goal is to relax your body. Take a deep breath and let your body go in a relaxation mode.

 

Focus on your breath 

Meditation does require a lot of practice, so if you are a beginner, you might face problems while concentrating. The best way to start is to focus on your breathing for the first five minutes of the session. Start noticing your breath and if you find yourself thinking about the things going on in your life, simply put your concentration power towards breathing.

 

Put your stressful thoughts aside

 The last and the most essential step is to keep going and don’t break your session. There might be dozens of thoughts popping up in your head. The more you practice meditation, the more you will start observing that your thoughts are getting organized, and the quiet spaces between the thoughts are becoming longer.
