Fond of The Kashmiri Cuisine? Check Out These Dishes Inspired By Ranbir & Alia Wedding Menu

Recently, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt finally got married. Wedding photos and inside photos from the wedding have already surfaced online and the internet is going crazy over them. However, one of the few details published so far is the preferred wedding Kashmiri cuisine which was specially designed for the bride and groom. It is a well-known fact that the Kapoors are all about food. Therefore, it should not surprise you that the food menu at the wedding was nothing less than spectacular. The wedding dinner included traditional Kashmiri food.  There were more than 50 ornate food counters right from Italian, Mexican, Punjabi, and Afghani to Kashmiri. Name the cuisine and they had it! While the food served to the guests ranged from tandoori chicken to dal makhni, Alia's brother, Rahul Bhatt, unveiled a special Kashmiri dish that was cooked just as how Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt likes it! The wedding menu had a combination of both vegetarian and non- vegetarian items.  Apart from the Indian cuisine, there was also fusion cuisine and a sushi dish at the wedding. Alia Bhatt and her BFF Akansha Ranjan, who love vegan burgers, had a wedding booth dedicated specifically to it while Ranbir Kapoor, who loves sushi, has a counter for the Japanese dish. Here are some amazing Kashmiri dishes right from Ranbir Kapoor & Alia Bhatt’s wedding menu that you must try!

Modur Pulav

Modur Pulav is a sweet Kashmiri rice dish made with cinnamon, saffron, milk, ghee, sugar, cashew nuts, almonds, and green cardamom, among other things. This dish is delicious, flavorful, and healthy, with saffron as the main ingredient, which gives it a beautiful color and flavor. This pulav has an unusual taste unlike anything you have ever eaten before. You will be left wanting for more after just one taste.  https://youtu.be/fJ0p-SgJb3E

Dum Aloo

Although most dishes of Kashmiri cuisine are non-vegetarian, there is something different about the special Kashmiri dum aloo. One of the most popular Kashmiri food recipes is Dum Olav or Dum Aloo. To give it a distinctive taste and aroma, Dum Aloo is cooked with yogurt, ginger powder, fennel, and other hot spices. If you want to enjoy the Kashmiri dum aloo at its best, eat it with naans.  https://youtu.be/iDzLyyzn_94

Kahwa

How can one forget about the Kahwa tea when discussing the Kashmiri cuisine. It is a traditional drink from the Jammu and Kashmiri culture. Kahwa is a green herbal tea prepared with saffron spice, almonds, and walnuts. Kahwa is traditionally used in ceremonies and festivals. Because Kahwa is cooked in every Kashmiri home, there are 20 different varieties. Some people also like to add milk in it. It is also known as Maugal Chai in many communities and places. https://youtu.be/i2-57WdkkeQ So, if you want to incorporate Kashmiri food into your wedding, like Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, don’t forget to include these relishing Kashmiri dishes in your wedding menu!
